In reply to: [BP Rewrites] interfering with xmlrpc.phpRight, notices shouldn’t be displayed into this context, I agree. Thanks for your report, I’ll fix it asap.

In reply to: [BP Rewrites] wp-login.php issuesHi thanks for your report. I agree BP Rewrites shouldn’t display a notice there.
On the other hand, it makes no sense to check for BuddyPress globals when hooking to
do_action('login_form')as these globals are not defined into this context at all, with or without BP Rewrites.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [BP Rewrites] Debug error logHi @teeboy4real
Thanks a lot for testing this plugin.
These notices are added by the BP Rewrites plugin when the
WP_DEBUGconstant is set totrue. Their goal is to draw the developer’s attention about the fact the code he/she is using right now would need to be adapted so that BuddyPress template globals are accessed once they are defined when using the WP Rewrites API.The BP Rewrites plugin is a feature as a plugin that we’ll include into BuddyPress Core once a lot of users have tested it. Thanks to these notices we hope these testing will help developers to progressively adapt their work to this new way of parsing BP generated URLs.
It’s made on purpose.
See https://bpdevel.wordpress.com/2022/02/13/bp-rewrites-1-0-0-beta1/ for more information about these notices.

In reply to: [BP Rewrites] Getting a fatal errorHi!
Thanks a lot for contributing to BP Rewrites. You’re right there’s an issue with the Members Invitations feature. I’ve just created a PR to fix it, see:
https://github.com/buddypress/bp-rewrites/pull/37It will be fixed in next minor version of the plugin: 1.1.0.
In the meantime, if you want to test other areas of BP Rewrites, you can deactivate the plugin, Go to WP Admin > Settings > BuddyPress > Options. Once there, disable the “Allow registered members to invite people to join this network” option. Then, you can safely activate BP Rewrites back.

In reply to: [BuddyPress] Terrible, installation poor, instant Spam No Demo?Hi there,
Sorry to read BuddyPress wasn’t the plugin you needed. BuddyPress is not a forum plugin, if your need forums, I advise you to use bbPress. BuddyPress brings some community features to WordPress such as extended profiles, members directory, private messages, short public messages like what you can do on Twitter or Facebook, and Groups (public or private).

In reply to: [BuddyPress] Not worth it!Hi there,
I’m sorry to read you were not able, unlike the 200,000 users who successfully installed it, to install BuddyPress.
BuddyPress “works” most of the time. When it doesn’t work it’s probably due to a specific WordPress configuration we are not aware of. In this case you can get help from our community using the support link of this Plugin’s page.
If it’s not enought, we’ll be happy to help you out from our buddypress channel into the WordPress’s slack.

In reply to: [BuddyPress] Plugin that stopped in the 90s.Hi @schuerich
Thanks for your review.
BuddyPress is still under active development nowadays, it hasn’t stopped in the 90’s because it wasn’t born at that time. FYI, the first version of BuddyPress was released on August 2014.
SVG support is not available in WordPress, that’s why we don’t add it. I’ll look into Webp images now WordPress supports it, thanks for this suggestion.
BuddyPress 10.0.0 introduced site membership request, you can now activate an option to avoid automatic registration (It’s not really automatic though, the user needs to activate their account clicking on a link sent into their mailbox).

In reply to: [BuddyPress] A great pluginThanks for your review. We will work on improving how we load CSS/JS in our next major release (11.0.0). Our goal is to only load these into BuddyPress areas.

Thanks a lot for your review. I’m not sure to understand your last sentence. Does it mean you discovered BuddyPress thanks to the BuddyBoss fork of BuddyPress ?
