In the most of the cases, that’s due to the server’s RAM overflow or perhaps due to PHP GDlibrary that cannot process images of the uploaded resolution.
The above being the case, please check the server’s logs for the RAM loading ( during the uploading process ) and try uploading images of a smaller resolution to see if that’ll work.

First of all, could you please let us know what’s your workflow for creating galleries and albums and if you use Lightroom to manage them?
Second, please tell us if you’d ever created any album named “Pet Photos” ( and if that album contained these galleries ) that may have gotten renamed at some point.
We need to specify here that NextGen cannot adjust the albums’ slugs even though the title got changed and that’d usually require re-creating the album and re-linking the galleries or the sub-albums.

You can set Basic Thumbnails to display them smaller from “NextGen Gallery -> Gallery Settings -> Basic Thumbnails” making sure that “Override thumbnail settings” is set to “Yes” then set the needed resolution for the “Thumbnail Dimension”.

Unfortunately, there are no such workarounds that’d allow importing folders of images to existing galleries.
Not really sure if this’ll help with your workflow but you can upload images by FTP to an existing gallery folder then scan the folder for new images from “Manage Galleries -> [Gallery Name] -> Gallery Settings[tab] -> Scan folder for new images”

So to start with – both PHP post_max_size and upload_max_filesize are lower than NextGen requires https://www.imagely.com/docs/requirements/
Still, this doesn’t seem to be the real cause of the issue as your uploading image file is lower than 2M so I’d assume something else is happening.
Could you please access “NextGen Gallery -> Manage Galleries” and let us know what’s the first gallery ID? If that’s “0” – it’d point to an SQL NO_AUTO_VALUE_ON_ZERO mode that’s causing the incompatibility.

Unfortunately, the custom CSS code cannot be dynamic this way. You’d need to manually edit the colors if that’d be needed.
Not quite sure if you can mark a thread as “unresolved” ( this may be limited to the plugin author accounts only ) but as a thread author, you should be able to change it’s status to “resolved” from the right sidebar.

Please let us know how you add the tags. Is that via an EXIF editor software, Lightroom or perhaps you import images from WP Media?

That’s odd. We are not limiting in any way the custom views for the free users.
Not sure if that’ll help but you can try using https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ to scrape new the URL in hope that it’ll change the image when you’ll share that link again.

You can choose the preview image for the albums and galleries.
For the galleries, you’d need to navigate to “NextGen Gallery -> Manage Galleries”, access a gallery then toggle the “Gallery Settings” tab and select the “Preview Image” and “Save Changes”.
For the albums, please access “NextGen Gallery -> Manage Albums”, select the album, press “Edit Album” then select a “Preview image”, press “Ok” and finally press “Update” to apply the changes.

We have made this change a couple of years ago so perhaps you haven’t updated NextGen Gallery plugin in a while. Now the free lightboxes can only display description captions but you can upgrade and use Pro Lightbox to display them both.
