Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/waterput/public_html/wordpress/wp-includes/load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/waterput/public_html/wordpress/wp-settings.php on line 19

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve already tried a complete restore from backup. Are you suggesting a new install and then restoring just the wp-content folder and wp-config.php file from backup?

Can I install a second new instance of WordPress in a new directory or do I need to uninstall the current installation first?

Anybody else have any ideas to try before I totally wipe my WordPress installation and rebuild the site? When I enter my login name and password, there’s a few seconds of activity and then the username and password boxes go blank. The screen never changes otherwise. Clicking the “Log In” button with nothing entered for username and/or password does not produce any error messages. Clicking the “Lost your password” brings up the recover screen, but sends no reset email. And, yes, I’ve used PhpMyAdmin to check and reset my email address, username and password. I assume that since the site still works, the database is connecting. I just can’t log in. Any ideas anybody?

Can’t “deactivate” or change theme – can’t get logged in. :•(
Tried removing the entire plug-ins folder in 3.1 through CS4 ftp.
Obviously I haven’t installed or activated any plug-ins since I’ve been unable to log in. As I’ve stated, I’ve tried everything suggested this to utter frustration.

Yes — several times. I’ve tried all the suggestions in this article several times. The password doesn’t appear to be the problem.

My ISP restored my site from a backup. Advised me NOT to up upgrade to 3.0.5 until WP assures me the bugs are fixed.

Please let me know if your host solves it. I’m totally locked out.
