In reply to: [Widgets for Google Reviews] Only showing 4 reviewsI have the same problem on mine, https://deepinstinctfreediving.com.
I’m using Widgets for Google Reviews / Trustindex, version 14.1.1, on:
- WordPress 7.1
- PHP 8.3.33
- Website: deepinstinctfreediving.com
- Google Business Profile: Deep Instinct Freediving ASD
I have noticed that the widget is now displaying only 4 reviews, while I’m quite sure it used to display more.
I initially thought this could be related to the widget layout or filters, but after checking the troubleshooting data it seems that the problem happens during the review download/import itself.
My Google Business Profile currently has 91 reviews in total. Trustindex correctly detects this:
<span style=”background-color: rgb(240, 240, 240); font-family: Monaco, Consolas, "Andale Mono", "DejaVu Sans Mono", monospace; font-size: inherit;”>”rating_number”: 91,</span>
"rating_numbers": {<span aria-hidden="true" class="PDq2pG_selectionAnchor"></span>
"1": 0,
"2": 0,
"3": 0,
"4": 1,
"5": 90
}However, under <strong data-start=”1256″ data-end=”1270″>My Reviews, Trustindex has downloaded/stored only <strong data-start=”1310″ data-end=”1334″>5 individual reviews.
One of those 5 reviews contains only a star rating and no text. Since I have <strong data-start=”1417″ data-end=”1452″>“Hide reviews without comments” enabled, the widget correctly removes that one, which explains why I see <strong data-start=”1526″ data-end=”1553″>4 reviews in the widget.
So the “4 reviews” itself is not the main issue. The real issue is:
<strong data-start=”1631″ data-end=”1707″>Why has the plugin downloaded only 5 reviews instead of the expected 10?
I performed a <strong data-start=”1726″ data-end=”1777″>manual review update today (September 10, 2026) before checking this, so these are the results immediately after a fresh manual update.
The plugin reports that the review download completed successfully:
review-download-inprogress:
review-download-is-failed:
review-download-finished:
active: trueThere is therefore no visible download error.
The star filter also includes all ratings:
filter: {
"stars": [
1,
2,
3,
4,
5
],
"only-ratings": true
}The downloaded reviews currently stored by the plugin are:
Reviews: [
{
"id": "1",
"hidden": "0",
"user": "XXX",
"text": null,
"rating": "5.0",
"date": "2026-08-11"

{

"hidden": "0",
"user": "XXXX",
"text": "[review contains text]",
"rating": "5.0",
"date": "2026-08-04"
}
]The list stops there: there are no reviews 6–10 in the troubleshooting output.

- Should the free plugin still download the latest <strong data-start=”4507″ data-end=”4528″>10 Google reviews?
- Is downloading exactly <strong data-start=”4558″ data-end=”4571″>5 reviews a known issue with version 14.1.1 or with the current Google review retrieval method?
- Is there a way to force the plugin to retrieve the normal 10 reviews <strong data-start=”4732″ data-end=”4812″>without using “Re-Create plugin” and losing the current widget configuration?
Since this seems to have changed recently, I would prefer not to recreate the whole plugin configuration before knowing whether this is a known issue.
Thank you.
