More ADD: I was using the wrong search values, but “sidebars in easel” finally brought up this:

Unfortunately, the reference link inside the post goes to the deleted forums. Other links imply that getting the sidebar off the comics page requires going into the subroutines and I don’t speak php yet.
ADD: I’ve tried changing the size in pixels of the #page and #content-column in “Blank” separately without effect. #sidebar-right does something but mainly just moves the widgets off the sidebar area. Using the config “Disable the default stylesheets. comiceasel.css and navstyle.css” switch gets rid of the sidebar but leaves the widgets showing over the comic page and leaves the comic area too large.
