I’m using Easel plug in with the Comic press theme with the “blank” child theme. The present theme configuration is only the right sidebar active with a number of widgets installed. I’d like to suppress the right sidebar on the home/comics display page but leave it on for one or more other pages, similar to what is done with the normal page switch. I may also need to selectively increase the display area of the comics content area.
ADD: I’ve tried changing the size in pixels of the #page and #content-column in “Blank” separately without effect. #sidebar-right does something but mainly just moves the widgets off the sidebar area. Using the config “Disable the default stylesheets. comiceasel.css and navstyle.css” switch gets rid of the sidebar but leaves the widgets showing over the comic page and leaves the comic area too large.
Unfortunately, the reference link inside the post goes to the deleted forums. Other links imply that getting the sidebar off the comics page requires going into the subroutines and I don’t speak php yet.
the sidebars php are located in the layout-head.php and layout-foot.php
the problem you will have is the not-knowing php ;/
there are wordpress directives you can use .. like if is_home() is_page() is_single and such that you would need to lookup to get the precise pages you want to either show or not show those sidebars on
