In reply to: [Contact Form 7 Style] Checkbox not on same line as text, help!@mlehelsz, The form is a private signup form for my art classes, so I don’t want to post it publicly. What is your email so I can send it? I tried using the contact form on your site but in FF and Chrome it refuses to send the message, just sits there doing nothing. :/

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] ON_SENT_OK – Please give us an easier alternative!!!It’s not my plugin but I think it should be possible because you can enter external urls. Copy/paste the url that goes directly to the file and put it in the “external url” box, then make sure to checkbox the option below that so it knows to use that link. In theory it should work….?

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] ON_SENT_OK – Please give us an easier alternative!!!I just wanted to give an update on this. I found a brand new CF7 plugin that redirects and lets you use external links! WOOT! Thank you to whoever made this plugin!

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] on_sent_ok depreceated@takayukister PLEASE consider an easier way to redirect to another page/url with CF7. I too am not a programmer, so now trying to wrap my head around DOM stuff is making my head spin. The (on_sent_ok) was so easy for us non programmers to get our head around, but the alternative is not as simple.
At the very least, please add on your documentation page (https://contactform7.com/2017/06/07/on-sent-ok-is-deprecated/) for this being depreciated, the DOM code for a URL redirect.
I haven’t found a CF7 add on plugin that handles external site redirects, which is what I need. 🙁
Edit: Ok, I found another of your pages that does explain the new url code (https://contactform7.com/redirecting-to-another-url-after-submissions/) but this solution does not work for me. Since this code has to go into the template file, that tells me this is a once size fits all thing. I have different forms that redirect to different URLs, some are external.
Is there any way to tell this code to only perform that action with specific forms?
EDIT TO THE EDIT: I just ran a test with a form on my site that uses the (on_sent_ok) method of url redirection. Even though you say it will still work till the end of the year, I have found that it doesn’t work now. My form no longer redirects after it’s submitted. I do get the submitted form via email, but the site no longer redirects. 🙁 🙁 🙁

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] New redirect method not workingThat plugin works great if you are redirecting to a page within the same site, but it doesn’t let you navigate out of the site, so for me I’m still looking for a solution. I have people sign up for classes on my site and then I redirect them to the payment page on SQUARE.
I HATE that the simple solution (on_sent_ok) is going away because unless you’re a programmer, it’s very difficult figuring the new solutions out!

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] How to pass data to ‘extra settings” sectionThanks I will look into it! 🙂

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] How to pass data to ‘extra settings” sectionBecause there will be several different classes on the same form, and I didn’t want classes that they didn’t select to pass to the email stage.
The solution I am reluctantly going with right now is to just have each class inside individual pulldown menus and have the information inside repeat, allowing the parents to change the number of children signing up. This way it’s guaranteed that what they select will have ALL of that info stored in a variable to carry over to the email.
CLASS ONE
[select menu-class1 include_blank “1 Kid / CLASS #1 – $20” “2 Kids / CLASS #1 – $40” “3 Kids / CLASS #1 – $60”]CLASS TWO
[select menu-class2 include_blank “1 Kid / CLASS #2 – $10” “2 Kids / CLASS #2 – $20” “3 Kids / CLASS #2 – $30”]Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Contact Form 7] How to pass data to ‘extra settings” sectionSome families sign up more than one kid, so simply having a checkbox won’t work in my case because that won’t give them the option to register more than one kid.
So there is no hidden variable that can be transferred over into the mail(2) email?

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] How to pass data to ‘extra settings” sectionI’m sorry it’s not clear. After re-reading what I typed I can see why. It’s been a long day. Let me try again and make some heavy modifications to it now that I’ve looked at things a little closer.
Let’s say the following are classes people sign up for. The text fill in box is to put the number of children they want to attend for each class.
<p>[text class-one size:5] – Class #1 at 1pm – $10 per child</p>
<p>[text class-two size:5] – Class #2 at 3pm – $30 per child</p>I can send the “class-one” and “class-two” variables to mail(2) in a confirmation email to the person who signed up, but all they will see is the numbers they entered and not the actual class names listed next to them.
What I need is to append “ – Class #1 at 1pm – $10 per child” and the other one behind the number of kids who signed up into this confirmation email using email(2). Is there a way to do this?
The other thing I need for it to do is to only send the classes they entered numbers into, so any blank fields are not sent.
I hope this is clearer, if not please ask.
Thanks again!
I guess support for this plugin is non existent.. ok then, moving on.
UPDATE on #2 possibly…
I just added a new post and inserted an image that was in my media gallery. This is it:
<img data-id=”1126″ src=”IMAGE.GIF” alt=”NAME” width=”200″ height=”222″ class=”alignright size-full wp-image-1126″ />
I saved it and loaded my site up on my phone, the front page kept displaying in desktop mode and wouldn’t switch. Front page has never been a problem for me with your plugin until now, so I went in and changed the link above to simply be:
<img src=”IMAGE.GIF” alt=”NAME” width=”200″ height=”222″ align=”right” />
And now it works!
So something with the data-id and wp-image info in the first link is screwing up the plugin somehow.
Sorry for the late reply, haven’t had a chance to look into this the last few days until now.
Right now what I’ve been doing for registering for my class is to just have a link that takes them to a fill in form on my site. Can I hook that link into the bookings functionality of this?
And just so I understand the set up.. Gerry_C’s suggestion would mean put those 2 last lines there in the Event Attributes part of the settings, then any time I say an event has bookings, it will automatically know to add a link or not? Am I getting that right?
Thanks for the help on this!
Nevermind, I found where it was. Didn’t realize this theme inserted javascript code in the comments.php file to include it.
I am an artist and teach various art classes to kids as a part time job, and things like my normal “open to the public” classes I’m good with including a link for the event, but I also teach after school classes at various schools as well as classes specific to Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, and for those type of events I have no need to put a link with the event because it’s a private class and I just want to list it on my events page as an informational thing. That way if someone wants to hire me for a class, then they can see what my schedule is.
(Also it would serve another purpose, which is show how busy I am with all these classes, which would help bring new business in because it’s showing it’s not just a hobby thing with me.)
If this is a custom job then I ask to include it as a feature in the next update of the plugin. I don’t have money to pay for custom code, unfortunately, so I will just have to live with everything being linked for the time being. Thanks for considering!
