Hi @rmniemela,
I’m so sorry for the incorrect docs regarding the sandbox tool. In version 1.5.4 we actually removed that tool from the core plugin and added it as a separate plugin you can install. It can be downloaded from https://github.com/Charitable/Charitable-PayPal-Tester
I’ll be sure to update those docs too. 🙂
With your pending donations, do you see any details about them if you click through to their details page in the WordPress dashboard? In particular, what do you see in the Donation Log?
Cheers,
EricThanks @jacobpearson! Really appreciate the thoughtful, detailed review. Glad you’re enjoying Charitable 🙂
Cheers,
EricThanks for the review @doromaha!
http://demo.wpcharitable.com/layerswp/campaigns/charitable-iphone-app/donate/ is a fairly generic example, using the Layers theme.
Cheers,
EricHi @guruseva,
There isn’t a setting that will do this, but you can do it with a bit of code:
https://github.com/Charitable/library/blob/master/campaigns/remove-stats-summary-block.php
See https://github.com/Charitable/library#how-to-use-the-code-snippets for information about how to implement this.
Cheers,
EricThanks @j2dw — we have made that change.
I really appreciate your feedback, particularly the fact that you have come back to comment.
I have one last request: Would you mind reconsidering your rating? 🙂

In reply to: [Reach] Caldera form fields not lining upHi @rmniemela,
Hmm, it looks like we’re currently setting a max-width of 300px on all textareas. I’m not sure why; will have to investigate that further.
In the meantime, you can overcome this problem with this:
textarea { max-width: 100%; }Cheers,
EricHi @cpgarcia09,
Which theme are you using? By default the campaigns shortcode displays the goal alongside the amount raised like this:

EricHi @rmniemela,
Here are a couple snippets of code you can use to add these buttons:
– Donate button: https://github.com/Charitable/library/blob/master/themes/reach/add-donate-button-to-campaign-loop.php
– Read more link: https://github.com/Charitable/library/blob/master/themes/reach/add-read-more-button-to-campaign-loop.phpThese can just be added to the functions.php file in your child theme.
Cheers,
Eric@j2dw What about the following?
Charitable is different. We won’t charge you any transaction fees for the donations you receive through Charitable, and you can use the core Charitable for free, forever. We support Charitable’s development through extension purchases, which add extra features.
From your perspective would that have made it clearer to you that not everything is free? Even though there are some paid features (like Stripe), I do want to make it clear that Charitable itself is free. The vast majority of people find the functionality included in the core plugin enough for their needs.
Cheers,
Eric@j2dw I like that! I’ll work on a rewriting that now.
Thanks for the reply @j2dw! I understand how that bit can be confusing. When we talk about transaction fees, were referring to the per-donation fees that many hosted fundraising solutions charge. e.g. 8% of every donation. But I can definitely see how that might feel misleading.
Can you suggest any way we can phrase that better?
Cheers,
Ericp.s. By the way, if you’re looking for a free Stripe plugin, have you tried https://wordpress.org/plugins/stripe/? It’s not a donation plugin per sé but allows you to easily accept payments.
Hi @j2dw,
Thank you for leaving a review. I’m sorry if you feel that our presentation or marketing is misleading in any way. That’s definitely not our intention!
Could you point me to any page or part of our description that you felt was particularly misleading? We would really appreciate the opportunity to improve things so that it’s crystal-clear what is included.
Cheers,
Eric
