I’d like to do it like this – http://creativecommons.org/weblog/ vs. http://creativecommons.org/about/people … the second link is just a reg. content page on their site, whereas the first is the location of their blog, which is built into the regular template of their site.

PHP – yes, MySQL – yes. In fact I’ve installed WP have it working at mysite.com/blog with the default template. problem is i want to sort of <insert blog content here> into my current site which already exists and has a very different layout and look. i’m hoping to run WP through the site, rather than the site through WP.

My apologies for the all caps – I’m a big ignorant to forum ettiquette (sp?). I believe my frustration is that it seems as though unless I have a fairly advanced understanding of php, css and server software its nearly impossible to do what I think should be a common objective. I have basic knowledge of css, good knowledge of html and virtually no knowledge of php. Anyone know of some simple code I can put into my non-WP homepage to pull out the most recent post? Or is the issue not this simple?

my site is www. coupleofpaynes .com (spaces b/c i dont want a link to it). i just want to replace the “whats new” content in the middle/bottom of the homepage which is currently 100% static text on that page with my most recent blog from WP. i also want to transfer the “what’s new” section to have the same look and feel but basic WP blog functionality. everything currently is 100% static as i didnt know any other way to do it. my WP blog was just set up and is currently at www. coupleofpaynes .com/blog (spaces again to be removed)

Great thanks. I’ve done alot of searches but can’t seem to find anything geared towards a complete novice about how to do this. How can I set my site to receive an RSS feed? I’ve heard something about rss2js but apparently that requires me to download and install a number of files. I fear that will take me another week to figure out how to get working correctly. Any ideas?

i’d like to know this too. like how to display the 5 most recent posts in a specific content area on an existing non-WP webpage???
