Made the changes to config.php. No more multisite. Functions are available.

Thanks again.

In reply to: Greyed Out Site URL, Home, and Permalink OptionsI already read these. I have a very specific problem not addressed by these articles. WordPress Dashboard won’t let me change my URL. And none of the articles I’ve read that address this issue have provided a working solution. I wouldn’t be asking for help if I hadn’t already searched for solutions in existing tutorials.

In reply to: Templates or Design MyselfThis is one of the things that is making me leery about WordPress. I’m an experienced designer. I don’t like templates. I don’t like using other people’s layouts and designs. And I don’t like having someones elses rules forced on me as to how my pages display.
From a design and layout standpoint WordPress seems really unfreindly. It seems like there’s multimple files that need editing. Enforced styles. Enforced formatting. Etc.
It’s not just as simple as designing the page, coding the layout and dropping the WordPress code into your design.

I want to make sure this is all set up right before I try it.
