In reply to: [Shortcoder — Create Shortcodes for Anything] Perfecto! Shortcode Pluginstill no luck with the Adsense code..
I definitely used the “text” editor and pasted it all in from the code created by Google Adsense…
What is strange is if I just embed that code in the “text” editor of my post, it does show up.. just not when I put it into shorcoder…
Grrr…

Hey.. I just saw the list of know issues that there is an issue with Cloudflare’s Rocket Loader:
CloudFlare’s Rocket Loader is currently not compatible with Jetpack Likes, Site Stats, and other Jetpack features using Javascript. You’ll consequently need to disable this feature in your CloudFlare settings.
I use this.. does it impact Related Posts as well??

In reply to: Putting Affiliate Images in my media Library to speed site?OK.. Thanks. I’ll Email the affilate company and see what they say.
Thanks.
MichaelPaul,
Thanks so much for the detailed response.
Based on your comments, it sounds like I am best just using the standard functionality and letting Amazon serve-up the images.
Sounds like it wouldn’t be worth the effort to load them all locally, and may even make things slower, so I’ll just leave things “as is” for now.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Shortcoder — Create Shortcodes for Anything] Perfecto! Shortcode PluginCorreen,
Hey – I saw your review of Shortcoder.
Were you able to get it to work with Google Adsense code that contains Javascript?
I tried it and it isn’t working.
Anything special you had to do?
I posted a question in the “support” section of this forum, but no one has responded yet (probably another plugin that is no longer supported by the original author).
Too bad, because I use it for other things and it works great.
Just want to be able to use for my Adsense ads and I would be set.Thanks.
MichaelI installed the Jetpack Comments module to replace the standard WordPress comments module, and the problem went away, so all good now.
Thanks.Anyone know if there is a way to get my Adsense code to work in the Shortcoder shortcode?
That worked – I was upgrading. I hit “reset” and then redid them all, and all is good now. Thanks. Michael

In reply to: Strange string of code appearing at top of DashboardGot it!. Was a plugin.
It was an old plugin I had called “post copyright plugin” that puts a small copyright notice at the bottom of every post.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-copyright-plugin/
I deactivated then all and the error string went away and started to reactivate them one by one…
Has worked fine for years, but seems to have a conflict with either the new theme I am trying out or a recent WordPress update.
This plugin doesn’t seem to be supported for several years, so I will search around and try to find another one that doesn’t cause this problem, or there may even be a way to do it automatically with the new theme I am using – not sure yet.. still learning all the options.
If you know a good plugin for adding a copyright notice to the bottom of each one, let me know.
And Thanks! – should have thought to try this myself.

In reply to: [Related Posts for WordPress] thumbnail not showing in admin ?Testing out this plugin and having the same problem – ever find a solution?
I don’t get any “options” to select a thumbnail size, and it is displaying a very large sized image instead.

In reply to: Media Library vs Uploads FolderMarius,
Thanks for the response and information.
So, sounds like I should probably keep the “alternate size versions” of any files that are in there if that image is used (somewhere) in my theme. So, what it sounds like what I see in the ‘media library” is what is in my database?
If that is true that is helpful, since there are definitely images in my “uploads” directory that aren’t in my media library at all – in any image size version. I’ll back them up just in case, but sounds like I can delete them without fear of messing up my database.
And if I see a “broken link” in my media library, sounds like that means an entry there is pointing to a missing file, so if can either delete that entry if I don’t need that image, or restore it if I accidentally deleted it.
Think I am starting to get this ?
Thanks.

In reply to: [Amazon Link] ipNation uses 1 meg of my WordPress DatabaseOk.. Thanks for the information.
I have very little that is bought through my amazon links, and most is from within the US and UK, both of which I have Amazon Affiliate accounts.
But is there any way to see if I start “missing sales” through other countries if I remove the ipNation database?
If I start getting more volume and am “missing sales”, then I may want to add it back down the road.
Thanks.
