Natalie, Thank You for your reply. I did log out of my website and re-entered without logging in. I was able to access the course, TH001 – Introduction to Bible Doctrines in the GCLC’s Courses — Theological Studies. I was able to click on the icon and was taken to the course page with the “Free” Access Plan for registration and enrollment.

I logged back into my website and was able to access the course TH001 – Introduction to Bible Doctrines in the Learner’s Dashboard. All of the course videos worked.

Thank You for providing a simple solution that I had overlooked.

When I complete my next course — AS001 – The Roman Road, I will create the first of four topic pages — Applied Studies that will be nested under the main menu tab – GCLC’s Courses.

Thank you for your help. I’m 73 years old and at times I can’t remember how to do something. I takes notes, but often I can’t find them.

This support topic may be marked as RESOLVED.

Thank You. I knew that you had made it possible, but I couldn’t find my note.

    Thanks, Natalie!

Is this what you are suggesting?

Section 1: Lesson 1 – Introduction to Doctrines
Section 2: Lesson 2 – The Etymology for the Word Doctrines
Section 3: Lesson 3 – Definition of the Word Doctrine
Section 4: Lesson 4 – Early Church Doctrine Formation and Instruction
    Section 5: Lesson 5 – A Theological System
    Section 6: Benediction

I would leave the last section as is because it is a prayer, not a lesson.

    Natalie,

I looked at the course on Google incognito to see if the pricing table shows up. I’m happy to say that it did. But, in incognito mode, I logged into my Dashboard as the administrator, clicked on view website in a new tab, and the pricing table didn’t show up.

It appears as if my problem is solved with the pricing table not showing up.

Also, while in incognito mode I was able to access my course from the GCLC Courses tab and the courses sections and lessons were visible, but could not be clicked on to watch the video lesson without being enrolled. That problem was solve, also.

The last obstacle is how to test that enrolled students are prompted to login/logout to watch the course’s video training (see my thread topic concerning this: Student Login/Logout and Account Information). How can I test for this feature.

Thank You!! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!

Thanks, I found a paid plugin, Use-your-Drive by florisdeleeuw.nl. It seems like it will do what I need.

    Natalie,

Thanks for everything. The Catalog issues are settled, I hope. The changes seem to be working fine.

    Thanks, Natalie,

I created the three categories, with slugs.

I set the category on my Theology course.

I created three nested pages in Elementor (used the shortcode, made the changes to the shortcode you verified) to show under the menu tab, GCLC Courses (Catalog) and modified my menu and saved it. Working great. My Theology course is showing up in the nested Theology page.

    These things are working well.

I’m still having problems with my Purchase Table showing up on my live website. (This is a different Support Topic I’ll add to that thread.)

Thanks for helping me with these things!!

I used Mozilla Firefox browser to access my website’s dashboard. I chose the course, Introduction to Bible Doctrine, that I couldn’t remove the unwanted text in my Access Plan (Pricing Table). I was able to create another Access Plan, Saved it, and saw it appear in the course description area. I updated my website, open my website in another tab, selected the course, but the Pricing Table wasn’t there.

I went back to my dashboard to LifterLMS Settings, Checkout and marked Manual checkout. The LifterLMS/WordPress Help site provide the information that for free courses they needed a checkout gateway activated. It said that I could go into Settings, Checkout and mark Manual Checkout. I did this. I’m still not seeing the Pricing Table and Access Button in the course.

I did the same thing with Google Chrome browser, with the same results.

At least progress was made. I was able to create an Access Plan and see it in the course description area.

I tried to fix the Access Plan for TH001-Introduction to Bible Doctrines. All of the fields in the Access Plan are filled in correctly. The Plan Description has two tabs – Visual and Text. In Visual tab is clear, but the Text tab is populated with the unwanted text.

I deleted the Access Plan and created another Free Access Plan. That didn’t work either. The old Plan Description text came back, even though i entered into the Plan Description box “All GCLC’s courses are free to registered users.” My new text was replaced with the corrupted former plan’s text.

Here are screenshots to document what I did. The shared status reads: Can view.
Anyone with this link can view the file.

From above, Thomas indicates that there is a bug in the Access Plan software. To fix it he wrote: “You can convert the classic block to other blocks (paragraphs, images, videos, etc…) and then delete the content from the access plan and you’ll be good to go.

I can’t figure out how to do this! Can you explain more fully?

    Thanks

TP Levy stated (above post): To allow anyone who visits your site to take your courses (for free) and also ensure they agree to your site’s admission statement you should set that admission statement as your site’s “Terms and Conditions” page (https://lifterlms.com/docs/terms-and-conditions-settings/) and then setup a free access plan for each of your courses.

I have done this in LifterLMS > Settings > Accounts > User Information Options
    _______________________________

TP Levy also addressed “open registration” (above post). He states: “Give your requirements I’d recommend disabling open registration.”

Question: If I disable “open registration” is there any way that non-enrolled individuals can only see a course’s course number and title, course description, course instructor, list of course topics, and an Access Button that will take the student to the total course to initially register and then enroll in a course. All courses will have a prerequisite for the course: Student Orientation. My big problem is that the Access Plan section has unwanted text (have submitted post about this). So far we can’t get this fixed. I’ve more than run out of time to have this website up and running. The situation is at the urgent level! I don’t have time to learn another LMS program!

TP Levy sent (above) this statement:

You don’t have to add a login/logout menu item but it’s recommended.

We have a special menu item that’s conditionally aware of the current users state and switches the menu item accordingly: https://lifterlms.com/docs/lifterlms-navigation-menu-items/#in-and-out

I want to add a student login/logout. I went to the link. I think I’m at the right topic. It says:

The “Sign Out” menu item also has a dynamic url which changes depending on the currently logged in user. When URL found in menu editor is #llms-signout. If you change this URL it will not allow users to log out! So don’t change it.

Question: What is the Menu Editor?

    __________________

    Also, the linked article says:

Dashboard Endpoint Menu Items # Top
Each endpoint on the LifterLMS Student Dashboard has it’s own URL and menu item.

You can add these to your menus via the LifterLMS section of the menu editors.

Question: How do I get to the LifterLMS section of the menu editors.

    Again, Thanks for the Help.

    Natalie;

You might want to review the above thread replies for July 9, 12 and 13. Here is Thomas’ thread reply for July 12:

This is a bug in the LifterLMS core that I’ve been struggling to find an acceptable resolution for for several weeks. The bug report can be found here: https://github.com/gocodebox/lifterlms/issues/777

Essentially what happens is the presence of a “Classic Editor” block copies the content of that block into the access plan description.

I’ve tried dozens of different things to fix this but I can’t find a solution other than simply NOT USING classic editor blocks on courses.

I haven’t found a really good reason why this isn’t an acceptable solution (other than it’s annoying and a bug is a bug).

You can convert the classic block to other blocks (paragraphs, images, videos, etc…) and then delete the content from the access plan and you’ll be good to go.

WE will get the bug fixed at some point but this is the only solution I have available to you at this moment.

Let me know if that helps,

    Good Afternoon, Natalie!

I followed your instruction and re-installed the LifterLMS Pricing Table. The unwanted text is back. Here is a screenshot from my Dashboard > Courses > TH001 – Introduction to Bible Doctrines. The “Can view” setting reads “Anyone with this link can view the file.”

I went to Gravatar.com and set up my profile and photo. I was already a member. I didn’t remember that. You can see the avatar photo in the screenshot above.

    Many thanks!!!

    1. You replied from above: “On the WordPress Editor do you have a pricing table block that you can also send us a screenshot of? “On the WordPress Editor do you have a pricing table block that you can also send us a screenshot of?” And then “However, if you have a pricing block on that Editor it may be pulling some information that it shouldn’t, and it would help if we could see that as well.”

My Reply: I can’t find a pricing table block on the WP Editor. I’ll send current screenshots.

    2. You replied from above: “Additionally, you can try to remove the Classic block at the very top of the page and the block with the issue to “Resolve”, if you save any information you want from that block, you can likely remove that as well and see if that resolves the issue in the access plan.”

My Reply: I was able to remove the blank classic blocks. (Now look at first block) This block said it was a Classic block in Paragraph format. The first paragraph was showing in bold, heading 3 type. I added additional text into the block (copied from my saved WordPerfect file), highlighted all the text in the box, and clicked on Bold Heading 3. After Updating, I wanted to add two headings to this box. I was able to add the first heading (Course Description), with heading 3. I added the second heading (Course Requirements), but I wasn’t able to make it heading 3 or bold. (What did I do wrong?)

The next box that is seen is Course Instructor. How do I add my photo in the oval in this section?

I also removed the Access Plan box. When I scrolled down below the list of my courses, there are four boxes: Yoast SEO, Course Options, Access Plans, and Student Management.

I did nothing in the Yoaast SEO Box.

In the Course Options, Restrictions, Content Restricted Message, I have entered (from before) this statement: “You must be registered through the Access Plan before you can enroll in any course and its content.

In the Access Plans, Free Plan (ID#740) Purchase Link; everything is the same from before. Where do I find the ID#740 statement? (I’ll include a screenshot of the “opened” Access Plans section.)

There is nothing in the Student Management box.

Here is the DropBox link. When I created this link the setting said: Anyone with this link can view the folder.

    Thanks Thomas,

You wrote: “You can convert the classic block to other blocks (paragraphs, images, videos, etc…) and then delete the content from the access plan and you’ll be good to go.”

Thomas, this went over my head. I’m sorry, but do I open the LifterLMS course file (located at LifterLMS => Course => file TH001 – Introduction to Bible Doctrines) in WordPress Editor? The first part that is showing in the active website (Not Dashboard) comes from the Elementor Editor. Do I open the file in WP Editor, Elementor, etc.; or what? What is the classic block?

Here is a Dropbox file that shows what I’ve done and the problem I’m facing in editing this file. The Dropbox setting for this link says: Can view. Anyone with this link can view the file. This is the Dropbox link:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/orqz8gcioz2ke7n/Global%20Christian%20Learning%20Center%C3%BCs%20Website%20Screen%20Shots%202.pdf?dl=0

I’ve thought about deleting this course file and starting over, but I’m afraid I’ll face the same problems.

What do you think of my creating this file in Elementor Pro? I could put everything in an Elementor page (Title, Course description, Course Instructor information, Access Plan, etc.), but, I have no idea how to integrate the Elementor page with the LifterLMS Course Builder (Sections and Lessons). I’m thinking about getting the Assignment addon. I won the drawing when I watched Chris Badgett’s recent Zoom training.

Can you help me? Thanks for what you already have done!!!
