We do have this problem, too. As an agency maintaining 200+ WP installations this is a big problem, since we have this problem in X occurrences in many of the WPs.

We now invested time into rolling out the CSS Fix into all of the installations, so that our websites’ layouts don’t look broken anymore. Rolling back the WP core version would have been more time consuming and risky.

So we only have to know now: Will this problem really be fixed in the next WordPress version? Do you mean the next minor (5.7.1) or major version? How long could it last until a fixing release will be published?

Hi @webfactory,

you are right, as soon as we deactivate Contact Form 7 the error is gone instantly.

Now we have a problem: Contact Form 7 has 5M+ installations and we, amongst 5 million others, use it on many sites. So it can’t be a permament incompatibility.

Else one would have to decide to either use your plugin or Contact Form 7. This cannot be in your interest.

So it’s great that your devs look into it and try to fix this incompatibility. Perhaps you could contact CF7 devs, too, to find a solution together?

But for us as end users now it is only important to know: How long will we have to wait until you say “It’s fixed.” or “We won’t/cannot fix it. Get rid of Contact Form 7 or find yourself another maintenance plugin because of this ongoing incompatibility.”

We have many sites where the maintenance page loads only with errors or simply gets stuck with a black screen or the ever spinning wheel at this moment. Chrome seems to be a bit more robust here than Firefox by the way.

Disabling CF7 in all of these whenever maintenance is on is additional work, impractical and cannot be a solution forever.

So please let us know what timeframe you intend to use for trying to find a solution: More like 3 days, a week, a month or half a year? So when should we start looking for alternatives. It would be a pity if we just had replaced all Maintenance plugins and their sites and one day later the solution is there.

Hello @trsupsys,

no problem, here is a screenshot.

As you can see there are three nag screens. You can click away the one on top and it stays away. If you click away the two nag screens in the middle and bottom of the screenshot and reload the page, then both of them are back again.

We use your plugin in many WordPress 5.6 installations under PHP 7.4.

Hi @jeroenrotty,

thanks so much for your quick response. But we have to make sure Yoast’s meta box is only removed for non-admins. So we need own code.

Since in add_meta_boxes there is remove_meta_box('wpseo_meta','post','normal'); possible and works, Yoast shouldn’t trigger a console error if one uses this, or am I wrong?
