Hi @bruberries , the 3rd-party plugin “SMTP Mail Control for MailPoet” actually works perfectly (it connects MailPoet to the WP Mail SMTP service through Brevo).

The problem is actually MailPoet’s “Send with … ” settings tab, because it is confusing that after setting it up it still keeps asking me to “Connect your website with MailPoet.” So, my question is how can I remove that nag screen in MailPoet since “Other” send service through SMTP mailer works just fine?

    Regards, D.

Thu @thup90 , as I mentioned above, I do not have MailPoet account, because I am using paid Brevo transactional service instead. But it works perfectly with the third party plugin “SMTP Mail Control for MailPoet” and “WP Mail SMTP.” The only annoying thing is that nagging screen to connect to MailPoet …

    Thanks anyway!

Saskia @jyria , thanks for the follow up.

Well, I realized that delivery of newsletter via WP Mail SMTP works just fine with your plugin … it’s just confusing that after setting it up it takes you back to that “Send with …” screen and keeps asking me to “Connect your website with MailPoet.” I hope that MailPoet will eventually remove that nag screen if it’s connected via “Other” service (WP Mail SMTP).

Thanks for the wonderful plugin and the function it offers!!

    Hi @thup90 ,

Never mind … I realized that delivery via WP Mail SMTP works just fine when configured as described above … it’s just that it is confusing that after setting it up it still keeps asking me to “Connect your website with MailPoet.” How can I remove that nag screen in MailPoet?

You see, it is true that I do not have MailPoet account, because I am using paid Brevo transactional service instead. Thanks for the wonderful plugin and all of its functions!

Saskia @jyria , that’s what I am trying to do, but every time I try to click Activate the standard settings (same as in your screenshot) it takes me back to choose between MailPoet Sending Service and Other (Configure). So, I guess I will have to write to MailPoet, because it is obviously their problem.

Thanks anyway for trying to help.

Hi Saskia @jyria , yes, I am aware that this is MailPoet glitch and I might have to write to them because I did exactly as you wrote, but still am not able to save/activate the simple “Your web host / web server” setting. You see I don’t have the Mailer: Select “PHPMail” or “PHP Mail” option, I only have “Method” and “Your Webhost” dropdowns and when I leave it as default when I click Activate button on the bottom left it takes me back to select MailPoet or Other for Send with … 🙁

Any other suggestion before I write to MailPoet?

Hi @gscoolidge , I finally had the time to troubleshoot our issue with the Health Check and I finally found the culprit!

So, it seems that PublishPress Permissions plugin is blocking access to GiveWP form edit screen!!! This is the plugin that the main Admin installed to limit some user permissions, but for some reason it blocks even Admin users from editing the GiveWP Forms (there are no settings for Admin in the plugin, only for other WP user roles!). So, when I disable it, Form editing and adding works just fine!

I even turned off the PHP snippet you provided for AIO SEO, and the form editing still works fine with AIO SEO enabled (and without the snippet), as long as PublishPress Permissions is deactivated.

So, thanks again for helping me troubleshoot this and please make yourself a note that PublishPress Permissions plugin is incompatible with GiveWP.

    Regards, Danijel

    Dear @gscoolidge ,

Thanks for that suggested Snippet Code as a fix for AIO SEO, but even after I created the Snippet and enabled it, even after Cache cleared, I still get the same error when trying to Edit GiveWP Form: “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” I tried cloning and editing + adding new form, but I got the same result. 🙁

So, I guess I am back at square 1 and will have to do complete plugin disable and then enable one by one to find the culprit. I will try to do that tonight and will report back afterwards.

Hi @gscoolidge , thanks for checking in … sorry, I had no time to do Health Check until now because of other open projects, but have now tried enabling Troubleshooting mode to see if GiveWP Form editing will work. Yes, after I disabled all plugins except GiveWP, I am able to edit the form … but will need more time to check all other plugins and see which one is causing the problem with GiveWP From editor. 🙁

I will report back when I have time to check it all.

Well, deactivating AIO SEO did not help (same error after deactivation). 🙁

So, I guess I will have to do complete Health Check. I will report back after I try deactivating all plugins tonight.

@gscoolidge , I am still waiting for your suggestions how to solve this problem?

    (@dmarin)

Ginger @gscoolidge , I even tried to re-install the GiveWP plugin, but still getting the same error after re-install: not able to create or edit any forms. 🙁

    (@dmarin)

    Hi Ginger @gscoolidge ,

Sorry, I did not see that you replied. I checked now and the result is:
    – I am able to duplicate the form but the same error message when trying to edit it.
    – I am not able to create “Add campaign form” (add new form) … I get the very same error message.

Any other solution to this problem?

    (@dmarin)

    Hi @gscoolidge,

Steps are simple, as always: I click in Campaigns, click on Forms and then on the only form that is there: Fundraising Campaign. However, when I click to edit the form I get the message: “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”

Please let me know what to do for the GiveWP to let me edit the form. You see, I have successfully setup GiveWP on several websites, some use paid version, some free version. But I have never seen a message like this before.

Thank you very much for detailed reply, @elanasparkle !

I will study it carefuly and discuss with the client (Taho Center). I will then get back to you via email, probably sometimes next week. I think we will get the PRO version, just need to figure out the version that we will need.

    Regards, Danijel
