  • Hey Haecceity,

Thanks for the post; it was very helpful. I just posted an article and then I went fiddling around with “updates”. Next thing I knew I was in “maintenance mode”. I wish there was a way to rate this post cause I give it a +5. 😀

    Hi tomdebruin,

I’m having a problem. The counter doesn’t seem to work anymore. Well; it doesn’t work when I check (enable) “Act on the_excerpt(); only” option. When I uncheck it, the counter works, but does doubles. When I check the option nothing is getting captured.

Very cool. Thanks for looking into this. In the “settings” page is there an option to reset the count – either by page or the entire site?

I’m having the same issue. I’ve had to manually upgrade WordPress each time. I just upgraded and now 2.8.4 is out! I tried the automatic upgrade and it’s stuck doing the same thing –

    Could not copy file: /public_html/wp-content/upgrade/wordpress-2.8.4/wordpress/wp-comments-post.php
    Installation Failed

I’ve changed the folder permissions to 0777 (/public_html/wp-content/upgrade), but I’m still getting that error. I’m in Windows 3.0.x and Linux 3.5.x.

I want to put in my $0.02 as well. This is a very well thought out and easy-to-use plugin. It worked perfectly and I loved the step by step process. Great job! Now I just have to put some money together and donate. 😉

I’m trying to reference a podcast so I’m using their .mp3 file? Is it possible that this plug-in doesn’t work unless the .mp3 file is located on your site? Mine isn’t working.

I’m talking about loading the image. The gallery and album load is just fine. When a person clicks on an image to view it – the loading time for that is very very slow.

The media uploader or the way media is handled in 2.5 confuses me. Now when I upload an image (which I originally had set to max of 450 pixels), my options are “Thumbnail”, “Medium”, and “Full”. But when I click on “thumbnail” it literally gives me the original image scaled down to 450 pixels wide… meaning if the original image is very large then my quote/unquote thumbnail isn’t a separate file at all, but the actual image and it’ll load just as long as it would if I looked at the full-sized image. Does this make sense?

The prior version created two images for me a thumbnail and a full image. Is this how it is supposed to work – like I said I’m totally confused and now (until I can find an answer) I have to create two images to upload to the site.

Other than that I’ve enjoyed version 2.5.

Has anyone came up with a solution? I’m having the same problem – no email notification is sent out to new users. I have the latest version – 2.3.1.
