Not sure but I think I fixed it. I created a php.ini file with this in it,

    <? phpinfo(); ?>
    memory_limit = 128M

then uploaded it to my wp-admin file. Went back in and activated my plugins one at a time and checked around and things seem to be ok except for my Dashboard, there’s only a partial view. The right now and recent comments show up but the screen option menu won’t work, hmmm. The All in One Adsence and YPN plugin isn’t showing my adds though, no effect to blog just no adds showing up. Looks like I still need a bit of help but things are looking better.

Just loaded the default theme and tried to activate the Askimet plugin and got the same thing a 500 server error and my Adsence is still not working with either theme, so I’m not sure if it’s a theme thing. Anyways just wanted to add to the list…thanks again, Mike

The upgrading problem I’ve been having has been going on for sometime now in fact the last 4 upgrades, so I manually do it at 1and1, their Webspace Explorer (FTP) works just like Windows Explorer, pretty nice and easy. Anyways, I’ve deactivated all the plugins and reactivated them 1 at a time and found the WordPress.com Stats and the All in One SEO are the only plugins that don’t effect anything. I’ve even done a fresh upload of WP and a fresh install of the wp-admin and wp-includes files and downloaded fresh plugins and uploaded them. I tried the memory bump plugin and all it does is lock everything up. I’ve added the code to increase the memory to the config file but it doesn’t seem to be doing anything. I tried to add the code to the htaccess file but I got a 500 server error. Kinda in a pickle here, not really sure where to go now, I’m not a real good code person so I’m a little leery poking around to much. Could it be a permission thing? Is it something with the htaccess file? Could it be in my wp-content file, can I change any of those files without loosing stuff, like some of the php stuff. I may have to increase my memory on my server, but I think I the last time I checked I had plenty to run this site without a hitch and then some. It’s seems to be in WP somewhere but not real sure where to look. Thanks for your help by the way, I really love WP and really appreciate this FREE program and the service you guys provide. Let me know what ya think,
    Thanx Mike

Okay, found where it is. After a while of reading and searching I found that I can not increase the memory on my server, I am allocated 20M usage only with the package I have. So does that mean basically I’m limited to the amount of plugins I can use, do I need to get rid of something to allow room for the ones I really need?
I went in and changed a few permissions to see if that would help but nothing yet. arrrg, I’m also having problems with my sitemap.

    Thanks for your help,
    Mike

How do I do that, I use 1 and 1 web hosting. I looked around but not really sure where to go. I don’t have much on my memory usage in there, if that’s what your talking about, I have plenty of space to add files.

First off, thank you for your help. I went through and deactivated my plugins and then reactivated them, looks like it’s in my sitemap.xml. Just don’t really know where to go now. When I deleted the google xml sitemap plugin then reinstalled it, are there other files that I might need to replace, like original wordpress files. I’m kinda green at some of this.
I checked my google webmaster tools and there is an error with my sitemap.xml file.

    Thanx,
    Mike

Stevish…I checked my site for the code you had in your post, mine looks a little different.

    <!–[if IE]>
    <style type=”text/css”>#sizer {width:expression(document.body.clientWidth > 650 ? “100%” : “100%” );}</style>
    <![endif]–>

Does this need to be changed?

I have thats just it. It takes me to separate page to add media, when I try the gallery and hit the show button, nothing happens. When I try to insert to post, white screen.
I’ve updated all the files in my root directory with new ones I just downloaded, man I’ve tried everything I know to do, it’s just acting retarded. It’s probably something simple for a guru, which I’m not.
Is it something new for it to take you to a new page to add images, I liked the pop up window better if so.

The problem was in the plugins. I moved all my plugins through an ftp to a new folder, then went into the dashboard and it’s back. I put the plugins back into the wp-content/plugin folder one at a time. These are the plugins I found don’t work. The 404 notifier plugin does not work, gives a fatal error, feedburner same, wp-amazon is the one that gave me the 500 server error, and I liked that plugin I could grab products and put them right into my posts, azlite did the same thing but it’s connected to amazon. All the other plugins that I put back have worked so far. But what is really weird is those plugins are working fine on my other site gogreensun.com, for the exception of the amazon plugin but it’s not giving me the errors.
Here is a list of the plugins I am using that are working on theinteriorguyllc.com, the site I’ve had the problems with.
    adsence manager
    askimit
    all in one seo
    do follow
    google xml sitemap
    headspace2
    oneclick installer
    seo friendly pics
simple forum (not sure if really working, but no errors)
    snap shots
    ultimate google analytics
    wordpress automatic upgrade
    wordpress database back up

Thats what is running so far for me, I would like to get the 404 notifier up and running though.
Oh ya, the problem I had last night also was my posts. When I would view my site, then click on on a post it gave me a 404 error and would take me to a generic page. So I change my permalinks to default and saved then viewed the post again and it worked, but what was really weird is I immediately changed it back to the custom and went and viewed and it worked, so don’t know what that was all about but I’m just glad to be back up and running, well I haven’t posted yet so wish me luck.

I hope this info has been helpful to you and wordpress.

The one site I installed it on is running fine I think I haven’t had a chance to post yet due to the problem here on this site, no manage at all for me I click the manage tab and a blank page loads. I click plugins and a error 500 server error pops up. HELP…..ARGGG!!!!

    Thread Starter Tigmo

    (@debpro)

The only thing is I can’t get to my plugins, it won’t let me, or the manage tab to do a backup, I’ve got the plugin already intalled, I want to unintall 2.5 and reinstall it through an ftp port or something or just go back to where I was before…functioning.
