In reply to: Child Theme Not Workingdemetri, alchymyth, thanks for your help. On to another question: now that I have the theme appearing on the Themes page, what other files (besides the style.css) should I have in there?
Say I have changes I made in loop.php and functions.php, and a couple other files – how would I include these in the child theme folder? Just as they are or do I have to make some changes to them?
Thanks.

In reply to: Child Theme Not WorkingOk, this is really interesting. I changed the name from 2011 to twenty-eleven and changed it in the stylesheet and now it appears on the Theme page. I guess WP can’t handle themes with numerical names.
Now to figure out how to make the screenshot and if I need to have any more files inside the child folder (like functions, index, etc.).

In reply to: Child Theme Not WorkingYep, it’s … /wp-content/themes/2011/style.css
I named it 2011, but I used generic info in the examples above.

In reply to: Child Theme Not WorkingThat’s exactly what I did. It’s in my first post. The stylesheet for my child theme is in the child theme folder I created.

In reply to: Child Theme Not WorkingThat doesn’t make any sense, since the whole point of making a child theme is so that you can keep your changes (in the stylesheet of the child) when you update WP.
I tried what you said and now nothing appears on the Theme page but Twenty Ten.

In reply to: Easier way to list items?Mark, I have a situation here where I may be losing my home and I won’t be able to help my ferret client anymore. She is wondering if she may contact you in case she has any questions (concerning the ferret stuff you made for her).
If you don’t mind let me know what your contact info is so I can give it to her. Thank you.

In reply to: Easier way to list items?I’ve already tried asking around about WP themes, but it never produced anything I could use. Most people just link you to stuff you can already find yourself on Google, and the majority of that stuff is as bad as the Weaver theme.
The Twenty-Ten theme doesn’t have very many options and it’s a pain to try to tweak, so that’s why I went with the 2010 Weaver theme. That’s the only bad thing about WP – if you don’t know code then you’re basically stuck with whatever theme you can manage with.

In reply to: Easier way to list items?Sorry, double post.

In reply to: Easier way to list items? No, that’s OK. I’m sure it’s probably this theme. What I would like to know is if you could recommend a better theme for my client? You’ve got some idea now what this 2010 Weaver theme is like so I’m wondering if you could suggest a better theme.
Something that is easy to tweak, easy to update, and which works well with the Ferret system you’ve developed.

In reply to: [Dynamic Widgets] [Plugin: Dynamic Widgets] Widget Doesn't UpdateYes, I’m using Super Cache. It takes a while to show the updated content so it must not be a fault of the plugin-in.

In reply to: Easier way to list items?By the way, I have no thumb nail settings in the theme’s function.php file. The only mention of thumb nails is in the 2010functions.php file, but I see no where to add sizes.

In reply to: Easier way to list items?Ok, an update…..I went back through this whole thread and discovered your “ferret files” which you had given me in a zip file. I downloaded that and uploaded those files back to the site and the ferret pages are back!
I went through and did some tweaks that you had given me on the previous pages and now everything seems to be working again. Boo-yah!
Sorry, I guess I was being super lazy here, lol. Now to get all of these things into one folder on my computer so I have them for next time and I don’t have to bug you.
The only issue that still exists is the thumb nails. No matter what changes I make in the theme the images still remain larger than we want (128×128). So I guess we have to create our images at the size we want and then upload them. Kind of a pain, but I don’t know what else to do to fix it.
Mark, thanks again for the help.

In reply to: Easier way to list items?I got the images back. I found out that updating the theme removed all the images we had, but thankfully I saved the folder to my desktop so I just had to upload them all again.
The stylesheet has been reset so I have to comb through it and put back the styles that we had. I can’t remember, did we have some files for the Ferret pages? Like PHP or CSS?

In reply to: Easier way to list items?I already did the update and it caused a few glitches. I just have to go through the site now and restore what the theme screwed up. The main problem right now is that I don’t know how to restore that Ferret stuff we did.
Her pages are still there, and the Ferret post thing on the left. The Bios and everything are still there, but the pages themselves aren’t displaying.

In reply to: Easier way to list items?I found it. I saved the current theme then did the upgrade. It wiped out all the ferret posts that Barb did (grrrrr). It also got rid of quite a few of the images on certain posts/pages. I tried restoring it and no go.
