In reply to: Index.php comes up blankMany editors add that {<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”iso-8859-1″?>} especially when using tidy so I would not be so harsh on any specific editor, I am sure Go Live is a good editor but myself I stay away from wysiwyg type as the code gets bloated with extras

In reply to: Bad RSS URL 1.5 b1 1-31The RSS feeds in v1.5 use some whacky new tag which is supposed to automatically open your feed in an RSS app. Quote macmanx
Yeah I think that is a bad move, I think with the gazillions of users out there it will only add to confusion. I have sharp feed reader and it did not open it, also I sometimes use live bookmarks. I did see the {type=”application/rss+xml”} in header.php but deletion of that reference in the rss feed did not work, just replacing the link to the actual file in sidebar.php and footer.php seems to be the simple

In reply to: no categories in 1.5 dashboardThanks I must have been blind, not the see the gray bar underneath. The reason the blog does not have entries is because I have just been experimenting with 1.5 but will start blogging on it soon, I still thought it would stretch despite not having content as my static pages do, I am learning this db/php stuff on the fly.

In reply to: 1.5 installed butThanks, I did get it installed yesterday in it’s own DB. I am somewhat confused if it is actually using the db that I created though. Does WordPress install it’s own db when you point your browser to the install file or does it have to already have the db defined?
It is just a toy for now til I figure it out but I got the navbar in place on the comments page!
- I am having troubles with the sidebar lining up though, I tweaked it though css using position: absolute;top:260px;</> but it should go up there on its own.
http://cafe789.com/journal/?p=1#comments I know the calendar and links are out of whack.
use the web developer extension to edit the css with this[position: absolute;top:260px;] and you will see it pop into place.

In reply to: Nav bar on comments page questionWillis back again, I just installed 1.5, simple, I am surprised that it is pulling my css layout from my other folder as I thought the styles would have to be in the same folder. I still need help trying to figure out this navbar.
NMoose being that you asked what version, I now have both versions running on the same db, I think I will try to upload the comment into the 1.5 folder with out the nav bav to see if it appears.
here is 1.5
