In reply to: Which is better?they do, I would only be adding/changing the user name/db name/. I have two installs on my server, one has done the upgrade from 1.2.1 the othe a fresh install of 1.5 but I could change the config from the 1.2.1 upgrade to the other and all my post will show, I suppose we could do a mock trial.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Which is better?@moshu/Laitai But I could essencially change the 1.2.1 db config file to the 1.5 and it should run perfectly and I will put it to rest, only thing that made me contemplate in the beginning was someone made mention of their 1.2 upgrade like it was not the real deal

In reply to: Netscape 4 Compatibilityjust rename the style sheet, call it whatever but not style.css or the layout if thats what your site calls for, it will not display the style sheet if it is not correctly named rename it back when they have seen it

In reply to: Which is better?I am only talking about the config file though, for instance I could change the config file on one to the other and then all the posts would show up there, now I am even more confused then when I started this thread.

In reply to: Which is better?congruent Now that is one word I have not heard in a log time!!!!!
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Which is better? Not to add to the confusion but lets say I have two versions running on my server/separate servers under differernt db names could I not edit both the db config files and swap db so that the 1.5 has the old config from the 1.2.1 and the 1.2.1 has the db info from 1.5 if this makes sence to anyone?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Which is better?@lawtai I will let some one else field that but my guess is no because you could just add the old db info into the new wp-config.php

In reply to: How to show only 5 comments on page?he actually did way back here
1 out of 10, you can click a link that says “see all comments” and a popup comment window will show up.

In reply to: How to show only 5 comments on page? Why would you not be able to limit it just like you do for limiting recent topics? 15 or 5 in his case, it is his blog he should be able to do with it what he wants, who am I to judge
