In reply to: Importing From Data BaseInteresting, both drupals .htaccess file is in the root and WP’s is in the mtec folder. How do I go about making sure that my WP home page and WP blog home page are set to http://www.musictalksedu.net/mtec?
I’m not sure how to make sure that my permalink structure for wordpress includes the folder it lives in……
I guess I’m just lost on multiple levels here. But, I understand enough were I think what many of you are saying seems to be the right path.
I guess I’m back to my first questions. I don’t want to use Drupal any longer so if I uninstall it do you think it would resolve this issue? If so, that might be my best route until I get better educated on files and folders on the server!

In reply to: Importing From Data BaseYou know, I think you’ve shed more light on this then anyone at this point. Do you think uninstalling Drupal would solve the problem? Because that’s what the plan is!!!

In reply to: Importing From Data BaseYou know that’s all new area to me. I know about the files and were the drupal and word press .htaccess files are located but I don’t know how to check. I think that just might be the problem. It seems to be a redirect to me. Because the new urls that are coming up seem longer and more drupal “type.”
If that makes sense….

In reply to: Importing From Data BaseWell, it seems like any or most urls/links that I put on a page are being automatically changed out and are linking to a page not found message on my current site that was created using Drupal.
No one seems to know why this is happening. If I copy a WP permalink into my html string, save the page, click page view, click on the link, it goes outside of WP and to the page not found error message.
It’s so bad now that you can’t even access most if not anything on the WP site. Maybe Drupal is mad because WP is going to replace it LOL!!!!

In reply to: Link/URL/Permalink ProblemOk, thanks, I’ll see what happens and report back my findings.

In reply to: Link/URL/Permalink ProblemYes, I found it in the word press folder…..

In reply to: Link/URL/Permalink ProblemOk, I found the word press .htaccess
But the last time my ISP deleted this same file for my old website, it took the whole site down. I do need help with this issue, but I need to make sure that doing this will not take down the word press site that I’m building and if it does not, will it create a new problem.
Sorry to sound so concerned….

In reply to: Link/URL/Permalink ProblemI believe I’m on a linux server, I’m with MacHighway…..my only problem is, I don’t know were to find .htaccess
I find this to be very interesting because it’s even changing links that I put on the actual page, that I paste in. Links that are part of the page text…..If you could be so kind as to let e know were to find .htaccess
I can give it a shot.
I will look around for it in the mean time
Thanks,
David

In reply to: I think I deleted my entire WP site!Nope, that did not work. You know, even though I deleted uncategorized in the post section. I believe some type of link, script, code or url that tells all my pages were to go or what to do was deleted as well. But, what was it, is my question and how do I get it back in place?

What’s also odd is when I create a new page, it saves it, but it does not show up in “pages” on the dashboard. You can see that the new page was added because my “page” count increases.
The new page title shows on the front pages menu bar but when you click on it, it does not come up. My “home” page is still showing an event calendar….this is very interesting.
