In reply to: [ThumbSniper] QuestionHi Amir,
no, this is not possible, yet. It seems that phonearea.com uses its own preview mechanism which is aware of the titles and descriptions of their articles. For ThumbSniper (as an external service) I would be necessary to crawl and index additional data of targeted websites first.
Nevertheless it’s a very interesting idea and I’m really going to think about that…

In reply to: [ThumbSniper] 3.5 Compatible?Hi Fionavar,
the current plugin version has been tested and is 3.5 compatible. I also updated this information directly in the plugin.

In reply to: [ThumbSniper] [Plugin: ThumbSniper] Where is the option "Include pages"?Hi,
that’s strange. I already have a few sites running fine with the 2.0.3 release. Does it show any thumbnails in “all” mode at all?
Is there a test environment which is reachable from external so that I could have a look at it? No backend access is required.
If not: There should be a block “<!– ThumbSniper scripts – start –>” to “<!– ThumbSniper scripts – end –>” in the source code of every page. Is it existing?
Are there one or more JavaScript errors regarding ThumbSniper in the debug console of your test browser?

In reply to: [ThumbSniper] [Plugin: ThumbSniper] Where is the option "Include pages"?Hi Twinsen,
version 2.0.3 is going to be released. It contains the fix for “include pages” and also supports the new premium thumbnails.
It’s already in the SVN, but not marked as stable.I would be glad if you could give it a try:

In reply to: [ThumbSniper] [Plugin: ThumbSniper] Where is the option "Include pages"?Hi Twinsen!
You’re right, the option field is missing in the current version. I have already prepared a new version which contains the “include pages” option again.
I’m going to release this version in a few days, because there’re some more tests to do.

In reply to: [ThumbSniper] [Plugin: ThumbSniper] A red cross…I’m sorry. There was a problem with the DNS server which is used by the generators. Unfortunately, all ThumbSniper users had the problem that you described. 🙁
I fixed the error and the thumbnails are re-generated right now. This should take a few hours. As you can see, “Greek Essentials” is already working.
Thank you very much for your feedback!

In reply to: [ThumbSniper] [Plugin: ThumbSniper] Does not work with Suffusion theme?Hi Evert,
I saw that you just updated to the latest version. I debugged your site, but I wasn’t able to figure out what’s wrong. The plugin is loaded and your hyperlinks become prepared for the thumbnail popup… but the main function just doesn’t get launched.
Maybe there’s some other plugin active which interrupts the ThumbSniper script. There aren’t any error messages in the debugger logs, so I think the bug could be deep in some jQuery function.
Do you have the possibility to successively disable your other plugins to localize the problem?
Cheers,

In reply to: [ThumbSniper] [Plugin: ThumbSniper] Does not work with Suffusion theme?Hi Evert,
I tried the current ThumbSniper version with the Suffusion theme… it worked like a charm.
If you would tell me the URL to your blog, I could check it for errors regarding the ThumbSniper plugin. Maybe there’s some kind of conflict with other plugins.
Best regards,

In reply to: [ThumbSniper] Thumbnail not showingHi Yannick,
I’m glad to hear that!
Normally, the thumbnail-generation-time is about 3 to 10 seconds… sometimes it’s a few seconds more depending on the size of the webpage.
Didn’t you even see the tooltip or was it the tooltips with a dummy thumbnail?I hope that you can enjoy the plugin without interruption now. 🙂
Best regards,

In reply to: [ThumbSniper] Thumbnail not showingHi,
I just tested the current version (0.9.5) with WP 3.2.1 and TwentyEleven. It’s running fine and without problems.
What other plugins do you have installed? One of them might conflict with ThumbSniper.
It the site publicly reachable so that I could have a look at it?Best regards,

In reply to: wordpress exploit, site hacked [newportalse.com]My site was compromised, too. I was able to fix all problems and blogged about it. That seems to help a lot of people. I get positive responses in the comments and in another WordPress support thread.
Maybe the hints could help some of you, too:
