In reply to: [WP Super Cache] [Plugin: WP Super Cache] cache tests failingI just did a test on the SEO site mentioned above and it appears that pages are not being cached, yet there’s nothing on the WPC page that indicates that it’s not caching:
‘It does not appear that you are caching your pages.’
And in-advertantly coughed up another problem with an Amazon/Google/Alexa search api?

In reply to: How come I never get an answer about WP’s awful editor?Hi,
Yes, I installed the code and it seems to work, however, I’m not sure if it’s caused another problem namely the editor now deletes iframe tags!B

In reply to: Problems with the iframe tag and the WP editorMostly, it gets added, but why doesn’t the editor like <iframe>? It’s ridiculous. I’ve been switching back and forth ever since I started with WP and aside from the dreaded space tag and (a lot) of other niggly things, it generally leaves objects alone.
If I altered the tag from iframe to object or perhaps embed, would it work? After all it’s just a call to a location.

In reply to: Problems with the iframe tag and the WP editorThat’s ludicrous!

Re the fckeditor: I had to drop it as it made editing texts almost impossible. Back tinymce…

In reply to: How come I never get an answer about WP’s awful editor? Some feedback on the editor:
I mostly use Marsedit to send texts to WP and so far it’s worked pretty well, with a couple of small exceptions.
But using the fckeditor (was the author pissed off with WP’s editor?) when I come to edit the uploaded texts, the editor is not putting returns into the text, so it’s all one big para. It’s okay in source mode but difficult to read.
I took the text and HTMLed it, re-uploaded it and it looks fine in the fckeditor.
BTW, I assume Marsedit adds <p>’s to the text though if it has actual returns instead of html, it always looks ok in the WP editor.

In reply to: How come I never get an answer about WP’s awful editor?Okay, installed it and it seems to be rather neat. Edited a couple of pieces and the output varied not by one pixel. But how come I didn’t know about this editor before?
Thanks

In reply to: How come I never get an answer about WP’s awful editor?PS to James:
You wanted to know what other problems the editor has, well here’s yet another one. Sometimes when I alter the setting on an image eg, from centered to left, the editor doesn’t accept the change. Yet again, I have to go into source mode, delete the offending code, go back to visual and reselect the image and change the settings (again).
You wonder why I get so infuriated with the editor?

In reply to: How come I never get an answer about WP’s awful editor?James:
Yes, I know what the problem is but it’s not just the stripping out and adding in that’s a problem, as I’ve highlighted above somewhere. But what you suggest is just as time-consuming.

I’m not au fait with php code but I’ll try it. Does it get added anywhere or what?

Yes, if you read back through this thread you’ll see a number of other problems but the spacer insert seems to be the most common problem.
Others include not being able to add a caption to an image if it’s centered.
And this that I mentioned above, which is a new one:
It can’t tell the difference between a p and a br, so now I have to remove blank lines after I’ve laid out the code in Dreamweaver correctly (I paste the raw html into Marsedit and upload to WP).
