I ran into the same issue. It looks like when you create a new gallery and click the “Add Page” button, it does not populate the “Link to page” field.
Thanks for taking the time to provide a detailed explanation on the internal workings of the plugin. As you both have suggested, if this is the sanctioned way to protect settings between s2member and other plugins, then I will live with the recommended fix. No need for a feature request.

Sorry, my comments probably came across too negatively and I did not express myself well enough. My concern is if we have an underlying issue in the base code and we apply a temporary fix on top, it masks the real issue and I wanted to understand how the developers would be made aware of those issues if we have applied a temporary fix.

But to me a plugin should never clobber any settings that were set by the users, especially in another plugin. Plugins should co-exist seamlessly. That is just bad design.
Fixing the issue with a “hack” is also not desirable in the long term. After a while the system is held together with duct tape and messy to troubleshoot.
Do the DEV’s ever look at any of these threads and take ownership for their design issues? If not, how do we get it on their radar?

I already had the mu-plugins folder, and an s2-hacks.php file so I added the code you suggested, excluding the opening and closing tags.
I did a quick test by deactivating the s2member plugin and reactivating it and the user permissions I had assigned in Events Manager to the s2member_level2 role survived.
So my only other question is why is this not a setting that we control through Restriction Options? Seems a natural fit there, rather than a “hack”.
Where do I place this file? Will it be shielded from any plugin updates in the future?
I downloaded a copy of the short-term fix and copied it to the s2member/s2member/includes/classes directory and the problem is resolved. Thanks…

I had created a directory with the same name as the page name, so when trying to load the page, I was instead getting a directory listing. Since that was what I was trying to do with Fileaway, I thought the formatting was not working. I changed the page name and everything works as it should.
I now need to figure out why directory listing has been re-enabled. I had previously disabled it.

In reply to: [File Away] Shortcode Generator does not display in editorOur site is currently being used by our club for uploading images for an upcoming competition. Deadline is Tuesday and I don’t want to make any changes till the deadline is passed.
I will change it to the 2015 WordPress Theme after that date and see if the Fileaway page displays properly. I suspect our Headway Theme is not playing nice. Will let you know what I find…

The button is still in its default position on the second line. But when I checked the options tab, I noticed that I had changed the Modal Access setting. Once I reset it, it was back to normal. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Still trying to sort out how the plugin works.
But I am stumped by not being able to properly display a simple file list using the settings [fileaway flightbox=”pdfs”]. It works fine on my test environment, but on our production system it shows a native HTML file list with links.
Is this a Theme issue conflicting with the styling?

I installed the update to EntryWizard (1.2.11) and the problems with time changes in Event Manager have been resolved.
I meticulously checked for conflicts with other plugins and eventually found the conflict with a plugin we use called Entry Wizard that manages image uploads for our club.
I contacted the developer of that plugin and she was able to replicate the issue. In her words, “I think Events Manager should be checking the time zone before displaying the time, but it appears that my plugin also should have played nice and reset it when it was done.”
She has posted an updated version that I will test in the next day or so and will hopefully confirm that the problem is resolved.
The only other Calendar related plugin we use is WP Full Calendar which claims compatibility with Events Manager, although it has not been updated since August 2013, so I am not sure if that claim is valid.
I deactivated it, and still the same issue persists…
