Have a look at our knowledgebase article on how to handle youtube:
We have created extra functionality to do this automatically for you. In the next release of Cookiebot, there will be a menu called “Prior consent”. Here, you can enable auto-markup of Youtube, Viemo etc.
Would you say that if I visit a website with Cookiebot installed, and I haven’t given consent for cookies, my IP address isn’t logged anywhere?
Your IP address is not logged by Cookiebot.
The website may log your IP address through some other services / plugins, we cannot guarantee that.
My knowledge of GDPR is (very) limited, but how does this work? Do we need to have an agreement with Cookiebot? I couldn’t find information in the knowledge base about this.
You do not need an agreement with us. Here is some more information from our knowledgebase:
Our data processing of your data as a Cookiebot customer is governed by our Privacy Policy (https://www.cookiebot.com/goto/privacy-policy/) (see section 2 in particular) that forms part of our Terms of Service (https://www.cookiebot.com/goto/terms-of-service/), which apply when you sign up for an account on Cookiebot.com.
Please note that we do not in any way collect, store or process any personal data about your website users. Put in a simplified way, Cookiebot functions as a technical on/off switch between your website users and the cookies and tracking technology in use on your website. The logging of user consents for documentation is also done in a way so that no personal data about your users is stored by us (please refer to our Privacy Policy section 2 about ‘End user data’ for details).
On the basis that we are not processing any personal user data on your behalf, we do not enter into individual agreements.
Which version of WP Rocket are you using?
Hi @a3020
Please read our privacy policy where everything is explained:
Hi @camelia_79
This is because your cache or speed optimizer plugin is inteferring with Cookiebot. It is moving the script (cd.js) to the <head>, which is why it is not displaying.
Which cache / optimizations plugins do you use?
We do apologize for not replying faster.
Can you send me some more information on wpsupport@cybot.com on which ticket I should look for?
Hi @aberbenni,
When Cookiebot scans your website for online trackers, you recieve a list of all URLs that Cookiebot found. There is no such thing as unknown links. All links are available in the scan report, and they are only in the scan report, because the URLS were publicly available at the time of the scan.
If you believe there is an error, you are welcome to reach out at wpsupport@cybot.com and we can look into it.
Hi @giugeo85
Sorry for the late response.
On every phone that we tested your banner it looks good. We cannot reproduce the issue.
@anonymized-15502524 some of your cookies are coming from the recaptcha.
https://github.com/google/recaptcha/issues/155
Anyway, I believe that you should be good to go.
Having a CDN in the US is great but about Asia and Australia? Im showing the cookie consent to all users. The loading time from Australia is over 1 second for that JS file. If I could load it from my CDN that would be better or if you can please increase your cdn regions that would also work.
When you update your configuration in our Manager (change your banner settings etc), your configuration is stored on our server. Even if you could host uc.js yourself, this would be even slower, because it would try to get your configuration from our server, thus making one more round-trip.
We will extend with CDN in Asia once we reach a more critical mass of users from there. This could be in the near future, as Japan and other countries are tightening their privacy laws as well.
Another issue Im starting to notice is that the cookie consent banner is shown randomly even after its been accepted. It began after you issued the fix for wp rocket, which im not using.
The WP Rocket fix and the banner are not related at all. The only time the banner should pop up is if your cache is cleared, or if the “renew” function is executed. We have not recieved any complaints about the banner randomly popping up, but will be watching this closely.
Thx for the update.
We have identified and fixed the bug.
Please verify if it works.
Hi @ftwwings
Which OS and browser are you using ?
Hi @anonymized-15502524
Just tested again, and I am not able to replicate the problem. No cookies are set prior to consenting for me. Still looking into it.
You can change the category of the cookie in the Manager, under the cookies menu:
