Did you make a new Menu in WordPress, under Menu? You have to make the menu you want for AMP there, then you have to do the click “link” thing again… I’m pretty sure I had to click “link” again.

Hi, I had the same thing happen. It turns out you need to go to the Menu tab in the AMPforWP menu … You need to make an AMP menu in Appearance – Menu, then activate it via the Menu tab in AMPforWP.

I made the AMP menu quite different from my desktop menu, due to the narrow screen on mobile phones…

I just discovered that when I removed the plugin Remove HTTP my errors went away, but Google takes a long time to validate the pages that were affected.

What I discovered is that in Google WebMaster Tools, under Search Console, Search Appearance, Accelerated Mobile Pages you can click on the page with the problem and a google page opens up where you can test the page. You have to play a game of select the squares to prove you’re not a robot, but once the page is validated, which all of mine were once I removed the plugin REMOVE HTTP, you can click on the button for Google to index the page, again you have to do the select a square thing. That removes the page from the critical error list.

The other thing is, the Advanced Ads open from a different part of the AMP menu. It’s further down.

I think I had all the same problems you’re having. I was so frustrated.

Did you use the upload thing on the plugin page? It took me ages to find it… but once I did, it worked fine.
