Ok, I got it, probably another plugin then is messing up with the_content, have you tried to deactivate all ? Also in settings is the review selected to appear right ?

You are quite wrong regarding the 2nd thing, the problem is that we submitted an update to wordpress.org 2 weeks ago but the review queue is so long, you can wait for the update to come or you can download it faster from our site, there is nothing we can do here.
I am not trying to force anybody to do anything, the theme/code is completely free to use.
For the background, you need to choose a quite big image, keeping the same ratio as the original one in order to display nicely.

I don’t really think is possible that the plugin caused this, might be a temporary hosting issue. Can I have your website url ? Can you check error.log file for latest errors ( you can ask the host about it ).

Your theme should allow comments, we just add some meta fields to the already existing comment box.
