Thank you so much, Rene! 😀
Hi!
s2’s restrictions (the URI one particularly) could be used to restrict access to WooCommerce pages, but WooCommerce can’t be used to sell s2’s access… WP Admin > s2Member > Restriction Options > URI
Well, unless you use some add-on for WooCommerce that lets you sell WordPress roles/capabilities, then you could sell s2Member’s. https://s2member.com/kb-article/s2member-rolescapabilities/
And even then the integration would not be complete for s2 to know when to remove the access (if it’s not indefinite). https://s2member.com/kb-article/when-is-an-eot-time-set-for-each-user/
AffiliateWP may not be an issue. You can use s2’s Tracking API for that. WP Admin > s2Member > API / Tracking
🙂
Thank you, @denunezz ! You made my day 😀
Hi @sesalot
I’m sorry you feel that way. What trouble did you have using it, or was this rating based on just looking it over?
I’m in the helpdesk helping users, paid or free, every day. I didn’t see an email from you, so I’m not sure what you mean by no support.
Did you buy the upgrade? I don’t see a refund request from you either.
That refund policy was written at a time when there was abuse from some users, before I took over, and despite it, I refund almost as if it were a “no questions asked” one.
I hope you find a plugin you do like, and wish you a lot of success with your project. 🙂
Thank you so much, Katrine! 😀
You can just install the newer version of the add-on (currently at v221103).
You can do it via FTP if you want, but you can use the plugins installer. WP Admin > Plugins > Add New > Upload
The options in your configuration shouldn’t be changed, you’re just updating the files, it shouldn’t change your database.
Records of the payments are kept by your payment gateway, so that’s outside of the WordPress installation, and is even less likely to be affected.
If updating a plugin worries you, you can always do a backup before making changes to your site (it’s good practice), so you have something to go back to if anything went wrong.
🙂
Thank you, Jonathan! We’re so happy your business is expanding, and that we can be a part of that. Looking forward to many more years of growth! Let us know if you need help again. 😀
Well, any of the restrictions would let you protect a single page. Actually, the default is no restrictions. Restrictions are added in the configuration. So something was changed in s2’s options that is causing that behavior, if it is s2 doing it.
There could be only a few things that restrict all/lots of things, e.g. an “all” in Post/Page restriction, a “/” in the URI restriction…
What do you have in your Restriction Options? Could you go over each, and show me what you have there? WP Admin > s2Member > Restriction Options
🙂
Hi John,
Thanks for reporting that with the details.
That error is about a line that was fixed for PHP8 several releases ago. Are you positive you have the latest release? Maybe you have the Framework at v221103, but the Pro add-on at an older version. I recommend that you re-download and re-install s2Member Framework and Pro v221103. https://s2member.com/account/
Let me know how it goes. 🙂
Thank you so much! 😀
Thanks for the additional details.
Hmm… The options screenshots don’t show me much, but login page one does. It’s the one you set as the Membership Options Page, right? And the URL includes some variables: ?_s2member_vars=sys..level..0..page..6252
See: https://s2member.com/kb-article/s2mop-shortcode/#toc-512d8de7
The “sys” part makes me think you set it as the Login Welcome Page, which is automatically protected at Level 0.
How that would then cause the whole site to be restricted, is not clear or probable, though. Is that page your Home page? It shouldn’t be. If it is, that may be a clue.
The behavior you describe is more like protecting with “all” in the posts or pages restrictions, or “/” in the URI restriction. But those would show up diferently in the MOP Vars…
Hi @torivt65,
Thanks for posting the update here.
For others that may come across this behavior: it had to do with using non-alphanumeric characters here: WP admin > s2Member > General Options > Email Configuration > Email From Name
🙂
Hi!
What you say about protecting it with level 0 is correct. Level 0 would just require the person to be logged in, basically.
I don’t know why you got that behavior you mention… Could you tell me how you protected the page with the steps to reproduce it? What restriction did you use, and what value did you enter there? A screenshot would be very helpful, too.
About the MailChimp integration, you can find it here: WP admin > s2Member > API / List Servers > MailChimp
🙂
Thank you very much, hvorrath! 😀
