SOLVED: I asked my host if I could be having the same ModSecurity problems others in this forum have reported, and they responded:

We have found two mod_security rules triggered on the server which seem to cause the issue and whitelisted them. Please check once again if you still get any errors. If yes, please provide a step-by-step instruction of your actions so that we reproduce the error(s) on our end and investigate the issue deeper.

My site now appears to be working as normal.

    Same here…

    I’m having the same issue!

I appreciate the help trying to figure this out. I deleted the plugin and reinstalled it, and there was no change.

However, when I have a mixed cart of one regular item and one subscription, the transaction goes through fine.

I’ve had debug turned on for the past few days, but the last item in the log is from Feb. 16.

    Thanks for the help.

    1. I do not see the error message when purchasing a regular, non-subscription product. Instead of “pending payment,” the order status is “processing” and I see the messages: “Payment authorized and captured” and then “Order status changed from Pending Payment to Processing.” This payment shows up in Stripe.
    2. When I set it to authorize and try to purchase a regular, non-subscription product, I do not get the error message and the order comes through as “pending payment.” The status says “Payment authorized.” This payment shows in Stripe as “uncaptured.”
    3. I created a $0.01 product (not a subscription) and tried to check out. I got the “Error processing checkout. Please try again.” error. The order shows up as “pending payment,” but there are no notes when I open it. No payment shows up in Stripe.

No, nothing else in the shopping cart. I’m using USD, and each transaction is around $37 – $43. I tried clearing out the shopping cart and trying again with the same results. I also tried with a different user and got the same error. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the reply. I turned off everything except:

    • WooCommerce
    • WooCommerce Stripe Subscription Payment Gateway

And it still has the same error. The order shows up right away in the “orders” section as “pending payment,” even though it says “Subscription authorized and captured” in the order notes and shows up in my Stripe Dashboard as having been paid. The item remains in my shopping cart and when I try to check out again, it adds another “Subscription authorized and captured” to the order notes and creates another entry in my Stripe Dashboard for a separate subscription.

I tried switching off as many Cloudflare options as I could, but I guess now I’ll try switching back from the Cloudflare DNS back to my web host’s DNS.

edit- I turned off Cloudflare completely and switched the site back to my web host’s DNS and it still has the same error. I also tried switching to a new theme (Storefront by Woocommerce) and still got the error.
