The plugin started working correctly again just today. No idea what changed.
I have not been able to figure out how to do this. I asked the hosting company but what they directed me to does not seem to have anything to do with php OR maybe that means the error.log has no relevant errors.
I think I can just switch tabs back and forth to get the tool to appear and use it that way.I cant load files here and that screenshot service you used earlier never seemed to load my screenshots. so im trying posting them to my WordPress and sharing the url:

I also keep occasionally getting a message that says”The server cannot process the image. This can happen if the server is busy or does not have enough resources.” and the file does not get uploaded. The files are tiny and it only seems to happen when I try to add two images in a row OR if I try to re upload the same image. This is what made me think maybe there is something wrong on the server – but I have not found a solution to that either.I have shared hosting with Dreamhost
Deactivating plugins and theme does not change anything. Could this have something to do with the server the site is hosted on?
WordPress is version 6.2 and WPO is Version 3.2.14
Okay – turning off all other plugins did not solve it. BUT I did figure out something. When I add a new image the compression interface does not show. But if I click back to the upload tab, then back to the media tab it shows up.
If I go directly to the media library and choose an image I also can see the compression interface.
So it seems like it just does not show on the initial upload – but shows up once you go away and come back.Yes that is turned on/selected.
Also agreed. I was having students install this and it was clear and easy to show them how to set it up and use it and talk about protecting their sites but now its mind boggling. So much text and so little clue where anything is or what to do with it. Nothing about it is clear or easy to use.
@kirk-at-addthis Yes I tried below excerpt on homepage – that doesnt do it, maybe because they are not excerpts but the whole blog post
I would swear the previous version of this plugin let you put it in a lot more places, pretty sure you used to be able to add them to every page if you wanted as @francois is asking. Seems weird to take away functionality….
Okay they are showing now on the individual blog post page. I think they used to show up under the blog posts on the main blog page not just on the individual post pages – is that not possible?
