  • Try visiting the support forum for your particular theme. They’ll be in the best position to help you sort this out. Good luck!

WP doesn’t handle that part (other than including your admin notification address in the settings page). You can set up all of your email addresses, forwards, etc. via your web hosting account. Log in to your hosting account and look for your mail tools.

Sorry you’re having such a problem with your site. I know how frustrating it can be to have what seems like a tiny change bring down the whole thing. Good luck!

Great! Glad you figured it out.

Then you can ask your web host to help you get that access, or to take care of it for you. Some are quite helpful.

If you can log in to the hosting account, you can use File Manager there. If you can’t log in, contact the person who is authorized to do that.

You need to change the urls back to what they were before. Have a look at this page which has detailed instructions for doing that.

Don’t be put off by how much info that page has. Read the intro paragraphs, and then look specifically at the section I linked you to: Edit functions.php. It’s just a few steps, but be sure to take it step by step.

That page has links about ftp if that’s new to you. If you still aren’t sure how to access the file, ask your web host to help you.

Perhaps you had another plugin dependent on bbpress and is now causing an error? (just a guess). At any rate, to try to get back in to admin, I recommend temporarily disabling all plugins.

If you can’t access your admin pages, you’ll need to use an FTP client (like FileZilla), or your host’s cpanel (or File Manager) and navigate to the files on the server.

In your WP installation there, find wp-content/plugins and rename that plugin folder to something like plugins-hold. That will disable all plugins and hopefully allow you to get back into WP admin. Rename the folder back to the original. Then you can start re-activating plugins until you find the problem one(s).

If that doesn’t do it, likewise rename your active theme’s folder so that WP will use a default WP theme temporarily. That way you can rule out whether the theme is at fault or not.

Before checking to see if it was fixed, first clear your browser cache and cookies.

If this is beyond what you’re comfortable doing, try asking your web host to disable them for you. Some are quite good at helping out.

you should not need to register just to get assistance from wordpress, whats that about? what if (just like now) i cant login and need assistance back into my account? someone should fix that.

One: you aren’t getting assistance from WP. You’re getting it from volunteers that would like to try to help you out of your mistake.
Two: how can we keep track of all of these threads if they aren’t attached to a specific individual? Hence, you log in as a forum user. We don’t think that’s a lot to ask.

Visiting your site, I would guess that you’ve accidentally changed your site or WP address in Settings > General. Your email address doesn’t set your page urls.

You need to change the urls back to what they were before (without the extra ‘l’). Have a look at this page which has detailed instructions for doing that.

That’s great to know. Thanks for sharing what you came up with. And I see what you mean: the layout of the forums looks much cleaner now. Well done.

You may want to ask about this in the support forum for the theme.

It’s not uncommon for a theme to style the first paragraph of a post differently. Some, though, have a setting somewhere (Customizer?) for toggling this off. If you don’t get the help you need from the above forum, you can probably override it with some custom css.

Sorry about that. It worked for me in Firefox, but as I said, there aren’t really any good unique identifiers for the first of those two elements (at least nothing obvious to me). Hopefully you’ll get some feedback from the bbpress folks.

    You’re welcome, and good luck!

Great! Glad you worked it out.

It would help if you posted the entire error message.

Upload a fresh copy of your theme, and the Twenty Fifteen theme (or another default WP theme of your choice. Disable all plugins, clear your browser cache, and see what you get. First try the 2015 theme, and if it’s ok, try with your active (fresh) theme.
