I have the same problem. I have to load a whole backup.
Well dang it. It ended up being my JetPack plugin.
I tried that and it just caused the site to go down.
I tried clearing out the nextgen-gallery/admin/functions.php and it didn’t work for me.
I have the same problem at http://juddhoos.com/pictures
I would love to know of a solution.
