In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] WordPress.com account hacked? Are you referring to the notice in your dashboard asking you to sign up for a subscription? If so, not to worry: your Akismet API key is still valid, but we’d just like you to confirm how you’re using it by associating it with an Akismet subscription.
If you have any questions, you can followup here or by contacting support@akismet.com.

In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] Update to 3.0.0 breaks backendfert: Which WordPress version are you using? If Akismet was the only plugin active and the problem was still happening, that’s definitely a bug that we’d like to get fixed, but I can’t reproduce it.
You can downgrade by removing the Akismet plugin and then manually uploading the zip for 2.6 from here: http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/akismet.2.6.0.zip
Either you already had a subscription and were unaware of it, or this is a bug; we’re not changing anyone’s plans or forcing people to pay who weren’t paying before.
Can you email us at support@akismet.com so we can get this sorted out?

In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] Update to 3.0.0 breaks backendfert: Can you post a list of the plugins you have activated and the theme you’re using? Alternatively, you could disable your plugins one-by-one and find out which one is causing the conflict with Akismet that is breaking your ability to expand/collapse fields.

In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] Update to 3.0.0 breaks backendkhalidjaleel: The theme you’re using is declaring a class called “Akismet” (not a super great idea). I’ll contact the theme author and ask them to namespace their class (e.g., call the class PureMagazine_Akismet), but until they fix that, you could either downgrade to Akismet 2.6 or temporarily change your theme.

In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] Cannot be updated to 3.0 from 2.6Those files are all from version 2.6, so either you have another plugin trying to manually load the 2.6 files, or something went haywire during the upgrade process.
I would recommend removing Akismet entirely and installing version 3.0 manually, either via uploading a zip or by searching for it in the plugin installation search box. If that doesn’t work, it’s probably a conflict with another one of your plugins, and we’ll figure that out.

In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] Akismet Still In The Jetpack MenuYes, if Jetpack is installed, the Akismet link will remain under the Jetpack menu. Without Jetpack, it’s under Settings.
A follow up question, what will happen to a site if the Akismet API Key owner doesn’t sign up for a subscription through Akismet?
Nothing for now, but we’d still appreciate it if users without subscriptions would sign up for them.

In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] Activation Error on 3.0.0 UpdateMost likely, another one of your plugins or themes is defining a class called “Akismet”, which is probably not the best idea.
What plugins/themes are you currently using? Disabling them one-by-one and checking whether the error still occurs would tell you which one is the culprit, or you could paste a list here and I can do some investigation.
Thanks for reporting this; the fix was included in this commit: https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/893628/akismet and is in version 3.0.0.

In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] Ver. 3.0.0 wont update3.0.0 was released just a few minutes ago, and it can take a little bit for the files to get pushed out to all of the necessary servers. Give it another try in an hour or so and let me know if it’s still not working.

In reply to: [Inline Preview] Not working rightI saw this happening on one of my sites, and when I reloaded the page to start testing what went wrong, it stopped happening.
My guess is it’s a conflict with another plugin, but I can’t reproduce it now. I’ll keep an eye out for it.

In reply to: [Inline Preview] Activated but not appearingThere’s no additional UI – you still use the Preview button that was on your editing page before. You might have to save your draft once before that button appears.
