Posting here to add another voice to this topic. I manage dozens of websites and it takes time to dismiss these “New in Yoast SEO” notifications on every website. I want to continue to receive critical notifications about SEO problems or needing to upgrade the database, but I don’t need to see a notice about every new feature. As another poster mentioned, what if every plugin did this? We’d be dismissing notices all day.
Other plugin developers have email newsletters that announce new features for those who want them. I think these types of informational notifications should be an opt-in feature, and only performance-critical notifications should show up in the dashboard.
For now I’ll use the filter. Thanks to those who posted it.
Hi Dave, I appreciate the info. I spoke with Siteground and they confirmed that they moved the site to a new server a few weeks ago. I updated the DNS to the new IP address. It has propagated, but WordFence is still detecting the old IP address and continuing to give the error on a new scan.
Is there a way to force WordFence to detect the new IP address? I changed the option for “How does Wordfence get IPs,” saved it, then changed it back to the recommended method, saved again, but it is still detecting the old IP address.
Here is a screenshot of the current IP address: https://imgur.com/6h0XtaN. I took the WordFence screenshot right after running the DNS lookup tool.
Thanks!
Hi Gerroald,
Here are two screenshots of a few blocked records. We also have some failed login attempts for admin users. All visitors in the live traffic list are showing the same IP address.
I look forward to your input.

Hi @wfdave
I haven’t heard back from the first email I sent about this IP issue, so I just sent a second email. I keep getting locked out of my WordPress admin and have to request an email to unlock it. Can you help me resolve the issue?
Thanks!
CelesteHi Dave, following up on the status of this. Have you had a chance to look over the email I sent? I can resend if needed.
Thanks,
CelesteHi Dave, thanks for the quick reply. I’ve emailed the diagnostics.

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] “Next Events” displays old events in v4.9.4Any input from the Events Calendar team on this? It seems to be a bug in the plugin. We’re still using an outdated version of the plugin until it’s fixed.
Yes, this works! I truly appreciate you following up with this until it was resolved. Your support is awesome. 🙂
I added your CSS and it’s still behaving oddly. It looks like the problem is with the div inside .wp-video div. See these screenshots:
In this screenshot you can see where I added the CSS rule:
It worked for that div, but there is another div inside of it with a different height:
I also added the CSS height rule to that div. It pushed up the play bar, but the video is still not displaying properly:
All of the divs inside of that one are displaying at 100% height and width.
I also tried switching to the FAQ default theme with the reveal effect set to none, and still have the issue.
Finally, I set up a test page with only this one FAQ question with the videos, along with a video outside of the FAQ. The video outside the FAQ displays normally, while the videos inside the FAQ have the display problem.
Any other ideas? The issue gets curiouser and curiouser.
I tried using the embed shortcode and the same thing happened. I also tried adding the height and width to the shortcode, and that didn’t change anything either. So I’ve tried these three methods, and it displays the same each time (hopefully these will display properly here):
[video src="https://example.com/wp-content/uploads/myvideo.mp4" /]
[video src="https://example.com/wp-content/uploads/myvideo.mp4"]
[video src="https://example.com/wp-content/uploads/myvideo.mp4" height="360" width="640"]Edit… the first link is auto-transforming to the embed code. On the site I tried using the plain URL with no code, it displays the same.
Hi, thanks for the quick reply! I switched to Twenty Nineteen and it does the same thing.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Missing PayPal Refund OptionHi @phillipwoo, I ran some more tests and tracked down the problem to an auto-complete function I had in my theme’s functions file. I was using this function in the WooCommerce docs:
https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/automatically-complete-orders/
Once I deleted it, the IPN began working correctly and the refund button now shows up. Oddly enough, my virtual orders are now auto-completing without the function!
I appreciate all of your help. 🙂

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Missing PayPal Refund OptionHi @ phillipwoo,
Yes I have the API credentials set up. I even created new credentials and ran a new test purchase prior to making the first post in this thread, just in case the old credentials were no longer working.
One thing to note is that on most of my WooCommerce sites, when new a PayPal transaction goes through, there is a message in the order notes saying “IPN payment complete.” However on this site there is no note saying the IPN payment is complete. I double checked that IPN notifications are turned on in the PayPal account. They are, and the notification URL is set to the WooCommerce url (https://oursite.com/?wc-api=WC_Gateway_Paypal). Payments are showing up in our PayPal account. Everything appears to be set up just like all my other WooCommerce sites, but this one is not allowing refunds.
Any additional insights you have would be helpful!

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Missing PayPal Refund OptionHi @phillipwoo, thanks for the reply! I increased the quantity as you recommended, and still do not have the “Refund via PayPal” button. See here:
Is there supposed to be a link to the document you recommended?
Thanks again,
Celeste
