In reply to: Header Image Won't Show after MigrationResolution, in case someone else needs to do the same thing: download the image and let the Header Selector upload it as new. I still have one ghost checkbox in the Header selection panel, but the main thing is the header image now shows up.

In reply to: [Clean Retina] HeadersHis issue with the header is identical to the one I’m experiencing. The Header page in theme admin even specifies a thumbnail size for the header image.
The menu problem would also be one I had if I could get past the header image issue.
I sent screenshots to devs some time ago, no reply as of yet, when I hear of a solution will update this thread for all concerned.

In reply to: [Clean Retina] HeadersHi Sanjiv,
Thank you for the helpful reply.
I was experiencing issues with the standard WP random header function; not changing images, then not being able to “see” all the header images in the awful WP Media Library, the reply on this forum was to upload the images yet again, which would work for a while until I tried a new theme.
So I started using the WP Random Header plugin. I already have the images sized, the plugin just randomly chooses an image from the target folder, so I can swap images without going through all those “easy” steps ad infinitum.
This has worked with all themes I have tried thusfar, including 2011 and 2012, but not Clean Retina. I upgraded CR this morning and it still shows a thumbnail of the header image.
Thank you again for offering such a nice theme free. I’ll leave it on my themes list and try the updates. If you want to contact me via the link on the website, I can send you a screenshot or other info.

I’m back to using the 2011 child theme, Pico Light, so you can see the header image as I want them to be. With Clean Retina they are perhaps 200 pixels wide, like thumbs instead of full size.

In reply to: Fix you NextGen Gallery MenuThe way to resolve this issue, for me, was to make the WordPress Address and the Site Address exactly the same in General Settings. Otherwise the Plugin Check fails and the menu to add a gallery or image to a post won’t populate. Thank you to another poster who found this and posted about it.
NGG is worthwhile to use, although there are some quirks*, I was motivated to find the solution by having a lot of photos already uploaded to NGG.
*Most of these softwares consider the order to be photo->album->gallery, NGG has the latter two reversed which confuses at first.
When adding photos, there is not a link generated to the gallery one has just uploaded to, and when does navigate to Manage Gallery the newest one is at the bottom of the list, often several pages deep, instead of right there at the top.
Thank you to the developer for making it.
Thank you.
Revert to 1.7.4. Good to know I am not the only one.

In reply to: NextGen Slideshow not workingGoDaddy is probably part of the problem. Try their support if your sense of humor is intact.

In reply to: [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] pulldown in popup hangsI have this same issue with anything 1.9.0 or above. Have found no answer anywhere. Deactivating and installing 1.7.4 instead works, you will be prompted to rebuild the database and then it works. After that I think you can go back up to 1.8.4, but I don’t bother.
I wish there was a better answer for this issue, but it apparently isn’t a very common issue and my queries have gone unanswered.
I have disabled all other plugins and set to 2011 theme and it still fails the plugin test. Yet 1.7.4 works fine.
Going back to 1.8.4 did not help, 1.7.4 works.
I reinstalled an older version of NGG, covered my eyes as I hit the Update Database button, and I’m back in biz.
Two steps to resolution:
One was NextGen-uploaded images being present in their directories but not seen in NG control panel. I downloaded a new copy of 1.7.4 and deleted the WP-installed copy. Uploaded photos returned. No plugins I had installed were found to interfere.
I also had galleries linked to folders in my Gallery 3 install, and these weren’t showing up after doing the above. Checked in Gallery 3, it can’t display them either, metadata intact though. Upgraded to 3.0.1 and G3 was still lost. Changed its Album folder to 777 recursive, nada.
Server people apparently did recent reconfig of cpanel. I tweaked permissions in Hotlink Protection (adding entry without www as well as the one they had with www) and they’re back. Worked the other way before, which doesn’t make sense either. Anyway, hope this helps someone or least gives a chuckle. :^)
Tried uploading another image, also blank. Other sites with 3.1 and 1.7.4 are working, but now I’m worried.

In reply to: NextGEN Gallery do not work with WP 3.1.I have disabled ALL other plugins, set permissions to 777 in the image files directory, and tried most of the options in the control panel.
Still have blank thumbs and no photos.
Images are fine when downloaded and opened.
I’m getting fed up with this plugin, it’s turning into a high-maintenance situation.
Any recommendations for something that works?
