I just released 1.3 which now allows you to change the permalink to the policy page.
Well at least I’m not going completely mad…
First time I clicked, I went to the .ru site. After Otto queried, I tried again and went to the Ben Nevis site.
Hmm… I take it back. Apologies to mudandroutes.
The ones from the post above – walkuptheben. I clicked and was redirected to a .ru site. Not the same for you?
Those last links are spam – they just take me to a .ru site. Not nice.
Perhaps. But I don’t have access to their army of lawyers so don’t know what their thinking is.
If I get chance when I do the next update, I’ll look to include this feature.
I’d always planned to take over the world via a cookie-based WordPress plug-in. Seems like this might finally be my chance.
The problem with having this timeout thing is that people will potentially miss the notification. I *think* – and I’m not an expert – that fading the message out after a period of time doesn’t really qualify as consent from the user.
World domination will have to wait.
Sounds like it could be a caching problem. Have you tried disabling W3 and retesting etc?
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Termly - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent Banner] UK Cookie ConsentIt looks like some styles from your site are overriding the plug-in’s. You can either edit uk-cookie-consent.php at line 153 to read:
color:#fff !important; This should do it. Alternatively, add a new declaration to your own style sheet like this:
#catapult-cookie-bar a { color:#fff !important; }That should also do it (though I haven’t tested the second option).
Hope that helps.
Hi. I think there are two things here. If you go into Pages, just double-check that the Cookie Policy page has been created. If not, you need to go into Settings > Cookie Consent and hit Save Changes (even if you don’t change anything).
The second thing is a bit more problematic. The plug-in assumes you’ve got your permalinks set to ‘post name’. If you haven’t (and it’s not an option for you), I’ll need to make an update to the plug-in to accommodate this.
Hmm… That’s something for me to look at for the next version.
I’d suggest that if you’re installing it on another site, to go to its settings page and click Save Updates, whether you’ve updated the settings or not.
I will investigate further.
Thanks for the feedback. Could you clarify ‘only appears’? The page gets generated when you install the plug-in otherwise you wouldn’t be able to edit it in the back-end.
And by way of postscript I see you have the plug-in working on the site in question. Extraordinary.
Thanks for letting us know.
Always good to get feedback from someone with such a genuine desire to contribute to the community.
