And now, for no apparent reason, the site is back up and running. I don’t want this to happen again, so please let me know if there is an issue I can check to keep it from re-occurring.

Here is more information. I scheduled several posts yesterday and this morning when I woke up, I saw the first schedule post appear. When I encountered the white screen, I renamed my plugins folder to plugins.hold and created an empty plugin folder. It didn’t help me at all. Then I moved all the themes to a new folder called hold and left the twenty ten theme all alone in the folder. Still nothing.
any other ideas?

I followed your instructions and I still get a blank screen. The site was working this morning and while I was at a meeting, I looked at it from my iPad and had trouble. When I returned to my computer, I found that I could not access my admin or see my front page. I can load http://www.hiway17.com/logo.jpg so I know the site is running.
Please help me. This is terrible.
