In reply to: Links not working

I cannot get links to work either. My site is http://sprowl.net/wordpress/

I have read the documentation, such as it is, because it does not tell you how to use the links.

I added links using the Administrative tools, I created a new Links page, I used the same name in the new page as in the links data. That didn’t work.

I created a new page Candidates and used the usual html. That didn’t work either.

I noticed that many people have had problems with linking and frequently the thread is closed without resolution.

Could we help me find a fix before closing this thread?

    Thanks,
    Bob

So I found a theme I wanted to try. I Previewed it then Installed it. But it is not my theme when I go to my site.

I found it again and tried to reinstall it which got me a message telling me, I couldn’t it was already installed. Well it is NOT! I still have the default theme provided by godaddy.

I even closed the browser tab and then opened the site which came up in the original theme.

According to the out-dated First_Steps_With_WordPress I should try the Classic theme and then back out of it using a “Default” option. I don’t see anything about those options in my current Dashboard under Appearance>Themes>Install Themes.

So I guess I should quit trying to folow the documentation and just experiment to see what works and how it works because they isn’t any manual to read and no one can tell me to RTFM! when i ask for help.

OK. That is the list at the right under ther Dashboard. And therefore the documentation is very out of date?

I sure can’t find the “Presentation Panel”, have not been able to locate the “View Site” button and think that changing the theme may be impossible.

Sure haven’t been able to figure out how change the theme. And can’t find one with the menu at the right where it belongs. Or how to create a new theme. Or even find a theme template.

Well the description in the documentation doesn’t match up with what I see. I’ve got a dashboard but the documentation refers to headers being in dark shading and NOTHING is in dark shading so I thought I had the wrong administrative Panel.

And i am following the documentation – that was misleading.

    Thanks
