I totally new to WordPress, just installed it by having godaddy set it up for me. I couldn’t get the installation to run on my Mac, I did get the MAMP to install but never could get WordPress to come up as a application.

But the godaddy tech support got it up and I logged into it and get to the Dashboard. However the first thing I should do according to the help file here is go to the Administration Panel and I can’t find that.

I was able to change the tag line but I would like to follow the documentation/tutorial to learn how to use WordPress.

So how do it find the Administrative Panel(s)?

    Thanks

    Bob

    That is your dashboard/Admin area.

Some visual references for you. The links will take you to image examples of what you will find in the admin area.

The “Docs” area might be helpful in getting started as well.

    Lots of questions answered! 🙂

Well the description in the documentation doesn’t match up with what I see. I’ve got a dashboard but the documentation refers to headers being in dark shading and NOTHING is in dark shading so I thought I had the wrong administrative Panel.

And i am following the documentation – that was misleading.

    Thanks

The color scheme was brightened up a bit in WordPress 3 and we volunteers hadn’t gotten around to updating that document yet. I assure you, it’s the same Dashboard.

Thanks for pointing out the error, it has been corrected.
