How do they co-relate? If you want to give a user wp author permissions, then that’s what you use.
Right. However, they tried their best. And, those who understand that functionality, with a few exceptions, never come to this board to ask for help.
What do you need to know about the sync option? If you are running a regular straight forward membership site with 2 simple user roles (admin & user) that function goes largely ignored.
I have a developer working on a custom function for this so hopefully will have a resolution soon.
Actually, I am glad you are using a developer person. I would have given you all the steps to do this for free and without the need of pasting a single line of code though. Hopefully you are paying this dev person for his time.

Hi, this is the support board for Ultimate Member free plugin. If this is a paid extension, support is provided here:

Thanks,
If your UM site works in English never worked in Persian, then please seek the help of a Persian speaking web developer.
Thanks.
I could care less what the logged in users see. I want the public who is not logged in to see different things when they go to the user profile for a Role 1 user vs a Role 2 user.
And that’s why I gave you the urls to those 2 test user profiles and told you what you were supposed to see out of each of the user roles. I only gave you access to role 1 so you could confirm that you can’t enter the information that was assigned to role 2.
Whether you have links or whatever you want to show visitors from user roles 1 and 2 is irrelevant to the discussion.
I hope this helps.
Can you please update to the pre-released version of UM and let us know if this fixes the issue?

For instructions on updating UM with pre-released version, please follow this link:
http://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/202-updating-the-ultimate-member-with-a-pre-release-versionIt may, or it may not be as simple as that. Maybe someone else with the same interest as you here would like to provide the code.
Whatever you do, don’t mess around with the core files.
Role 1 will have an element on their user profile, Role 2 will have a different element on their user profile. What I want is that difference to be visible to the public not just to those roles when logged in.
Have you tried making 2 forms?
Make/Add another form for role #2 (you can duplicate and edit/remove what you don’t want to display).
Paste the shortcode in Admin panel > Pages > User >Better yet read this.
http://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/100-unique-profiles-for-different-user-rolesThat document should solve your problem.
We seem to have a serious issue in communication.
I told you, it’s not possible that way. It’s only possible if a user enters his username in the directory search box. Only then him or her will be found.
To have that you’ll need to apply the settings I posted above.
Are we clear now?
What part did I misunderstand? Since you are elaborating further, have you tried creating 3 roles in user roles? Have you created fields in your profile form fields manager which contain the privacy settings allocated to each of these user roles?
Let me know,
You don’t need code for that. The only settings you need to know for that are:
Enable Search features: Yes
Show results only after search: Yes
User Roles that can use search: (default) members
Choose field(s) to enable in search: UsernameI thought you wanted a user to go to the member’s directory search and be the only one found without searching, or by default. That’s the code I thought you needed.
Let me know if this helps,

I see your form is correctly formatted in UM, but the links are completely misconfigured. How do you login as admin? Can you do that on /wp-admin/?
Two things, are you sure you are not using the ‘Account Welcome Email’ from the Admin panel > Ultimate Member > Settings > Emails, to send UM welcome emails?
Because if you are, and the ‘Account Welcome Email’ is switched on, whatever you are editing in the templates/email folder is not going to send your emails as you edited.
And second, there is no reason as to why the “Hi {display_name},” in the message body there, shouldn’t display the first name and last name separated correctly.
Just making sure.
Daviparvjx, I told you, UM generates profile cards automatically with any information you choose in members directory > member (for all members).
The bottom line is, UM does not have an option to create one user profile card just so that one user can see or find him/herself in the directory alone.
I guess if you had 100 user members, you could create 100 user roles and 100 member directories manually, but that’s kinda silly… 🙂
I’ll see if I can come up with some code that would exclude all users except the profile owner from any directory search.
I must say, I do find your idea intriguing…
