What’s your question?
You may want to read this post:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/reg-formlogin-form-redirecting-to-blank-page/Did you end up losing all your UM settings after deleting (uninstalling) the UM plugin?
Your question is not accurate because ‘conditional roles’ and making fields ‘user editable’ or not, are two complete different things.
One more thing, just in case, set your member user roles in Admin panel => Ultimate Member => User Roles like so:
If you did the theme and plugins conflict tests as you allege, then something is wrong with your server. The problem would be at the data base.

Ultimate Member is FREE! The best plugin to build a community which you can transform into a web business that can provide you with a steady income stream.
Now that you know you have the horse for free, buy it a saddle. If you want someone to neatly tie LDAP into UM, then offer the author of that plugin the job (i.e. pay him).
What “second question”?
What’s your real question?Making multiple vague questions is not helpful.
When someone gives you as a gift a horse, do you first check its teeth?
Yes, but that would require customization. Please hire web developer to help you modify your WP.
The problem persists. The plugin is looking in the wrong path for wp-load.php as the plugin is not located inside the wp/ folder.
We’ll, it’s a WordPress “plugin”, mainly to be used on Apache servers running PHP. Am I to understand that you are advocating a change in the script’s path so that it can suit your needs?
If so, this is the wrong place to do so. You should take it to the UM Gist where the authors can take a look at what you propose and implement new ideas (or not)…Did you make sure to have ‘Can view other member profiles?’ empty in Profile Access?
What version of PHPBB are you running?
To change the redirection url after sign up, go to Admin panel => Ultimate Member => User Roles => default (e.g. Members). Click edit user role.
Registration Options.
Action to be taken after registration.
Redirect To URLI don’t think it is a problem with the php server.
I hope that helps…
Did you first select a choice from your field ‘dropdown’ as an admin, left it there, logged out and then logged in as a user?
