Any other ideas how to test what is going wrong here?
Yes, uninstall and re-install UM. Make sure to make a back up or export settings if you don’t want to lose data and form settings.
Check that user on Admin panel => Users. It appears “k24” does not have a “memberultimate” user role…
Customization questions are for the most part not discussed on this free UM support board. Please hire a developer to help you with your customization needs.
if we have paid for the Ultimate Member plugin and have access to their support system?
You can not pay for support on WordPress.org. All plugins are free of charge unless a premium version exists which wouldn’t be discussed here. Thank you.
It seems that you are reporting 2 issues.
#1 Do you have required rules set in place in your fields manager profile form?
#2 Do you have the user role selected to view profiles in user roles? That green alert content block that should appear is java script so you maybe experiencing a .js file conflict somewhere.
You should do first the conflict test just in case.
It may well be a bug or just an editing issue.
Read this post and tell me if that kinda brings some clarity for you:
https://ultimatemember.com/forums/topic/translations-do-not-work/See? Simple right?
It has to be said that it should be pasted in the styles CSS file of the theme or better yet, a child-theme.
Thanks for sharing that.
Oh, so now you know it’s CSS conflict?
Do you have any other suggestion Borisv ?
Yes, fix it yourself.
That’s clearly a CSS conflict in img properties. It could easily be fixed if you knew how.
Email verification for what mistakes?
Did you come up with that code? The error msg if it should pass function check (which it doesn’t) is “Your username must not contain the word admin” which is a blacklist function on UM.
I have check a another language file (it_IT) and there this line reads “Language: it_IT\n” can this have any impact on the behaviour, or is this merely information for the translators?
It’s information required in .po files.
I am sorry, what do you mean by “members page”? User profiles? That’s what i thought you meant, especially since you wanted a shortcode to do that function.
If you mean the member directory, you can not add a shortcode to callback user roles.
The easiest thing to do would be to allow users to select a user role at the registration form (e.g. customer, student, etc). Once they fill that out and gets propagated, it can be displayed on the profile card taglines.
Not going further with this since I don’t even know if this is what you want.

That means that there is a conflict with that plugin, and unfortunately, we don’t provide support for third party plugins…

BTW, if it’s not exactly what you’re looking for, the code is a good starting point.
A misconfiguration in your server of some sort. Assuming the issue didn’t exist prior to the creation of these two dropdown fields, you need to provide details and screenshots of the steps you took when you created the first menu.
