    Hello Everyone

Since Monday 25th April my website looks “different” http://www.knowyoucan.org.uk

I have been advised that chunks of Avada are missing, and one assumes that that is a theme.I have activated the “Avada Child” theme in the hope that this theme will replace the missing chunks.

I am currently waiting to see if my current web developer has a last know working copy of http://www.knowyoucan.org.uk

Your advice would be most welcome

    With kind regards

    Hello Everyone,

It appears my theme from my website has gone missing
    http://www.knowyoucan.org.uk

I have asked for a back up copy of my website and received it today via email.

I cannot gauge the complexity of the issue and it must be said also gauge if this post is in the right forum.

I have a word press developer willing to give me a quote for a re- install from a back up however my question is ” How can I carry out this re-install myself”

Your advice would be most welcome!

    With kind regards

    Hi Suzi

I got back into my account and wanted to say a BIG THANK!!! as you were the author of that!

I have looked at the eleganthemes site and was on the brink of installing the WPS Login when I realised my grapic designer is in the process of fine tweaking my website. So as not to muddy the waters I will hold of on installing the WPS Login feature until he has finished.

In closing if I can return the favour do ask!

    With kind regards

Thanks for the link it was not to clear in video. I used it to change my password and used the password to try logging in again however I got a message saying to many logins.

Just to be clear, my website is hosted by Go Daddy and because of the changed login URL not containing the letters php they can not migrate the wordpress account.

So I made a note of what I think is working and will try it in the morning

Closing on a postive note I was able to delete users from 3 years ago within the cpanel.

I will leave you with a question, can the changed login URL be overidden ?

    Thanks for your help

    Regards

    Hi suzi

Thanks for your help and support!

I found that video useful and change the password, went to the log in page and found the new password was rejected.

I am waiting for the administrater to get back to me and I came across this email from him

    Hi

We actually change the standard wordpress log in as a security measure as hackers try and log in and they know the standard url for admin. So the actual admin to use is

    http://www.knowyoucan.org.uk/kwadmin

The above is what I have been using to get to the log in page and I think thats the root cause of the problem.

I would welcome your thoughts on a way forward please

    Regards

    Thank you suziwilson

I will try that option however a new challenge has arisen.

I now find that I get the following message when trying to log in

You have been locked out due to too many invalid login attempts

Apart from wait who should I approach as each time I request a new password the above message appears after trying to log back in.

Any advice would be most welcome

Thank you for your informative email! It is my understanding the web designer would like access to everything concerning wordpress.

    Andrew

Thank you for your prompt reply. What I mean, in a manner of speaking is this:

I would like to give the new web designer access rights to make changes to my website.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon

    Hello Everyone

I updated a blog post with a photo and successfully uploaded it to facebook LinkedIn and Twitter.

Tried to replicate that with another blog post ie update it with a photo however this time now images shows when i post the blog to the same social media sites

Would this happen because the second blog post is short of Yoasts suggestion of 300 words?

Any advice would be most welcome
