Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Site deletedWow this was an AWESOME solution. Had no idea you could do this.
Not only were all the pages there, I was able to cut and past the text into the new site. No re-typing, just some random bold word I had to fix. And the name of each photo file was in each box so I only had to upload them from my pc files and paste them in.
Two hours and everything was back in place. Of course it took a little forum searching and another hour and a half to remember things like turning off comments and little things like that. But that was nothing compared to the devastating thought of having to re-write everything. The visual and text were restored very quickly on a new, unhacked site. We are ready to go forward.
Thank you Thank you Thank you Michael. CubeColor getS two thumbs AND eight fingers up from me!! (AKA APPLAUSE)

In reply to: Site deletedDo you mean checking in the history browser for last time I visited the pages. Tried this and nothing there….
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Site deletedDear Cubecolor,
Thank you for your reply.I worked with two tech at my host extensively last night, doing as you state, without a solution. Their thought was the uninstall eliminated the base data files at wordpress and that is the problem. They could not confirm this, so was trying to ask someone at wp and found this forum.
Anyway….our site is only 9 pages with 2-4 paragraphs each. Mostly I have the word files that were pasted in. Our site is “art and design” driven, so the photos (which I have) and the estetic layout are key. If I can see a google cache of the site (didn’t know about this) there is no doubt I can recreate it in a few hours. I have gotten quite savvy at navigating within wordpress.
Can you please point in the right direction to learn how to see the google cache of the site. That would be amazingly helpful! I think it might be fun actually to put it all back together. (have been acussed of being eternally optomistic and trying to laugh at the errors)
You help is greatly appreciated.
