If you do not have something set up to take a regular database backup and do not have one you made manually, your best chance will be if your hosting company take a backup of the database. Hopefully they will be able to help with this.
Without a database backup, you may be able to recreate your content manually by copying from google’s cached copy of your pages, but depending on the size of the site that task is not likely to be much fun.

Dear Cubecolor,
Thank you for your reply.
I worked with two tech at my host extensively last night, doing as you state, without a solution. Their thought was the uninstall eliminated the base data files at wordpress and that is the problem. They could not confirm this, so was trying to ask someone at wp and found this forum.
Anyway….our site is only 9 pages with 2-4 paragraphs each. Mostly I have the word files that were pasted in. Our site is “art and design” driven, so the photos (which I have) and the estetic layout are key. If I can see a google cache of the site (didn’t know about this) there is no doubt I can recreate it in a few hours. I have gotten quite savvy at navigating within wordpress.
Can you please point in the right direction to learn how to see the google cache of the site. That would be amazingly helpful! I think it might be fun actually to put it all back together. (have been acussed of being eternally optomistic and trying to laugh at the errors)
You help is greatly appreciated.

Do you mean checking in the history browser for last time I visited the pages. Tried this and nothing there….
Sorry, no, not browser history.
Assuming all pages are indexed & cached by goolge think of some unique text on each page (perhaps the page title) and do a search such as site:cubecolour.co.uk hosts (using my site as an example)
The search is limited to the site URL you specify after site:
Looking at what was returned from my example, I can hover over the page name of the top result and if the page has been cached, a grey double arrowhead is shown (when using a desktop browser.) Hovering over over that shows a preview of the page and a link to see the full size cached page.
Do this for each page and you can get screenshots text copies etc and although it will still be a time consuming manual process putting it all back into WordPress.
Good luck & Let us know how you get on.

Wow this was an AWESOME solution. Had no idea you could do this.
Not only were all the pages there, I was able to cut and past the text into the new site. No re-typing, just some random bold word I had to fix. And the name of each photo file was in each box so I only had to upload them from my pc files and paste them in.
Two hours and everything was back in place. Of course it took a little forum searching and another hour and a half to remember things like turning off comments and little things like that. But that was nothing compared to the devastating thought of having to re-write everything. The visual and text were restored very quickly on a new, unhacked site. We are ready to go forward.
Thank you Thank you Thank you Michael. CubeColor getS two thumbs AND eight fingers up from me!! (AKA APPLAUSE)
