@tnault No. But turning off only one feature still gives you the security of others. The problem is there are so many plugins that conflict with that feature in different ways (all of which can also be interpreted as an attack in the wrong hands) that I couldn’t possibly exclude them all without compromising the feature itself.
@knobby44 are you using an extra plugin for domain mapping? I could see that would cause problems as the plugin is only really built to handle WP’s builtin subsite addressing (subdomains or subdirectories).
@thealchemist Can you email me at info [at] bit51 [dot] com. I would like to take a closer look to see what you have going on there.
The options could be. As for database caching, if you don’t know you probably aren’t however your host may still have some opcode caching (APC) on for your account which could have the same effect.
The rename id is intentional as without a LOT of ram it would be too easy to break in a large multisite install. For example, on one of my own ms installations with about 90 subsites each with a number of posts it quickly consumes 512mb of ram which I find very few users using.
As for the domain mapping, this is not a feature I’ve supported yet as its not part of the core. I can look into it in the future but for the moment it isn’t in the cards as I don’t have any live sites to test on.
Shouldn’t be. I’ll take a look and make sure that emails wont save for empty lists in the next version.
It is probably related to your smtp server. A number of hosts have limited the ability to attach such backups in recent weeks. Watch for the ability to send it to DropBox instead this fall.
Interesting… I will take a look as it hasn’t affected images on my own multi-sites.
@DoctoMicro Thanks….. That’s what I get for combining GApps accounts (I remembered to move everything but YouTube and Chrome extensions). I will be fixing soon.
@joneiseman I will fix this in the logs for the next version.
Thanks for the follow up.
I will take a look. Thank you for the report.
Ahhh… eval can be used as an attack vector. In this case it is found in the code that is added to .htaccess to detect malicious scripts (it isn’t being executed but is in fact being used in the same fashion as your threat scanner.)
Thanks for the followup!
Interesting batec. I will look into the reseting issue.
Please check you wp-config.php it sounds as if something might have gone wrong while writing the new prefix.
1.) No
2.) Hard to say, if you are using the “Meta” Widget you will have a link on your homepage. Some other plugins can also do the same, etc.
3.) Depends on what they’re coming from. Normally no however if you’re getting errors due to a plugin that handles URLs in a way that could otherwise be malicious you may need to turn off a feature or two (typically one of the System Tweaks features).1.) No, cache should be fixed (as long as you’re not using db cache reloaded)
2.) ??
