Hello,
Thanks @joneisman, there was a bug for there for a release or two after I changed the output format for the .htaccess rules. As you have pointed out this was fixed in 3.3
@dan just want to check that you didn’t get any memory notices during the change.
Are you using some sort of plugin to edit users rights? By default only administrators have access.
If you’re out of memory you have 2 options:
1.) Increase the memory available to your site
or
2.) Don’t use the filecheck featureGlad you’re back in. If you need to delete manually you’ll have to delete the field with bit51_bwps from the options table in your database (note these are all the plugin options which will then require reconfiguration).
Yes, you can do so for each type of notification within the options for that notification.
@buypower the only thing hide backup does is write some rules to your .htaccess. It cannot do any damage that cannot be reversed by manually removing the rules from .htaccess. As for register, as that is part of the hide backend feature it will not work if the feature is not turned on.
@opentosolve – Turn off the option to prevent writing to .htaccess in system tweaks. It turns off the ability for anything that doesn’t manually change options from writing to .htaccess
@natetronn I use Greengeeks, AWS, a couple of hostgator sites, and I think there is at least one mediatemple site in there. Can you email me at info [at] bit51 [dot] com so that I might be able to get some info from you to track this down?
You can remove the SSL section from wp-config.php which should allow you to regain access to the backend. If you enabled fron-tend SSL you will need to delete the field with bit51_bwps from the options table in your database.
What kind of error is it giving you?
Unfortunately 2 still seems to happen and I haven’t yet had the chance to hunt down that bug….
…10-15 usually means there is some sort of database query caching turned on as it relies on such a query to determine if a backup has been executed or not.
Interesting. You have options for write to .htaccess turned off. Had you reinstalled the plugin?
Yikes!
Thanks for the feedback. I will try to get a fix out this week or next (as soon as I get back home).
The redirect to home page is because of time restrictions set in away mode.
@caps Have you checked your logs? Your issue sounds like you have a bunch of 404 errors in your site.
Thanks for the info. I will look into what caused the error.
Thanks again all. This will be worked on.
Thanks. I will take a look at this. Last question…
…are you using any reverse proxies such as Cloudflare?
