As one of those newbies I certainly felt powerless when 2.8 trashed my blog . . .at least the WYSIWYG editor. That was the problem I was suffering, and I read that many others shared the same fate. Getiing the script to downgrade would be a magical cure, otherwise the procedure which doesn’t look too complicated, nonetheless, requires several steps where errors could be made. So I have found a fix which worked perfetly for me.
I installed the wp-insert which you can download here: http://smartlogix.co.in/category/wordpress/ You can replace the standard wp editor with this little script and it now only solves the problem but also provides some very excellent editoing tools you would not have had prior.

What I have been doing, and may have to not do, is create my Page or Post in Word, save it as a Web Page, open the web page, copy and paste it into WP. It “looks” like it works fine and in fact it does, but not apparently with IE. I validated one of the pages (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.oneheadsup.org%2Fthis-software-is-really-great%2F&charset=(detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline&group=) and have 20 errors, but I am clueless how to interpret it. Without having to give me an intensive course 🙂 could you perhaps explain it a little further? I really appreciate your attention. Many thanks.

I expected that there would be a way to have people subscribe and also a way to enter comments, start discussions, etc.. Right now the table with the correct name appears but other than that it seems nothing can be done. I appreciate your help.

If you go to my site you will see what I have (www.oneheadsup.org) but basically there is no apparent way I can get anything going at all. I unchecked “Allow Comments” b ut I don’t see any changees. Also, I don’t know how to get the registration form to appear so people can sign up.I went to Community>Settings>Log in Form and uploaded an image, but nothing seems to happen.
What are some of the most important things I don’t seem to know 🙂 I appreciatew your help. Thank you.
