In reply to: Tag surfer plugin? Thanks. I just had a look at Google alerts and it seems to be really for news only?
I quite like the technorati one. Would like it to display more than 3 items before having to click on more though.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Tag surfer plugin?Actually I jsut found the technorati watchlist. I reckon that would do it. And the bonus is that its not just wordpress blogs.
Thanks very much for your help Handysolo πForum: Plugins
In reply to: Tag surfer plugin? No sorry. on wordpress.com blogs in the dashboard is tag surfer link. If I click on it it lists all the latest blog posts in categories that I stipulate.
So I can read only xbox new posts or software or whatever.http://wordpress.com/blog/2006/08/13/related-tag-surfer/
Its really handy for keeping up with the latest wordpress posts for my subjects.

In reply to: Tag surfer plugin?Forgot to mention, its a function via the dashboard, not a plugin for the sidebar.

In reply to: Tag surfer plugin? The tag surfer I mean is when you have a blog at wordpress.com go to tag surfer and you can see related posts on other people’s blogs dependant on your choice of categories. So I could choose xbox and it will list all the latest xbox posts.

In reply to: wysiwyg css/php editorDon’t worry about it I have chosen a less stressful theme.
Thankyou for your help anyway.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: wysiwyg css/php editorI know about the changing permissions. I have even set the whole wp-content folder as 777, but still get that error above. :-/

In reply to: wysiwyg css/php editorThe editor on this theme is just a point and click one. Click on change navbar and then insert the link I want and change the name for it. There is no coding ability required. It should make these things easy, however I am having that permissions error.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: wysiwyg css/php editorBut as I explained before I have no experience with coding. I don’t know which files I need to change. I don’t know if chnaging one would require a change of another. And I certain have no idea how the code works.

In reply to: wysiwyg css/php editorOk thankyou. Perhaps you could advise on my permissions problem then?
Theme – guru manager, it does have the ability to edit components however I am getting permissions errors, for example error writing to function.php when trying to change a link in the navbar.
I set both navbar.php and function.php to chmod 666 however I still get the errors. I just need an easy way to change these little aspects of the theme.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: If this file was writable you could edit it.Thanks Moshu. Just looking for a way to do it without having to change that CHMOD stuff each time I want to make a change.
If that is not possible, then I will do it as suggested and keep changing it.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: If this file was writable you could edit it.Bit late on this thread but its something I need to know myself.
If I copy and paste the CSS text into notepad and edit it, I don’t need to change the file permissions?
