Christine, on the Pages index, on the page in question, the Allow Comments box is checked as it should be, but the comments don’t show.
I’ll be moving to a new theme soon, so I’ll see what happens. Thanks!

Thanks for your quick response Christine. I’ll take a look at the Quick Edit as you suggest.
I’m looking for something similar and ran across “Post Notification” which is not in version 2.2. Can’t vouch for it, but it sounds like what you’re looking for.
