In reply to: [JetBackup - Backup, Restore & Migrate] Issue with backup download@joydoug Generally such issues may be related to symlinks which are regulated by server configurations. We attempt to create a symlink for the backup archive, but in case it fails you won’t be able to download your backup using BackupGuard interface (GUI). Of course your backups are there and you can download them using any FTP client or cPanel tools. The backups are being stored in “wp-content/uploads/backup-guard” directory.
For resolving the issue, please make sure that your server configurations allow symlink creation. You can contact your hosting provider and ask them to enable that feature for you.
FYI: I’d like to outline, why symlinks are so important in this case. We don’t open direct access to backup archives, but create a temporary symlink. This is done for security reasons. Nobody won’t be able to download your archives externally without your permission.

We are sorry for your bad experience with our plugin. We have added all the basic functionality into the light version of the plugin and in case you want some advanced features you need to upgrade.We are using modern UI/UX and I don’t think this is an old style of design https://prnt.sc/lavzfw I guess there may be other CSS styles which can affect our plugin and this can be a reason of the clunky and old design.
Our team will be happy to cooperate if you can give us more details connected to the features which you think should be added inside the free version of the plugin.

@jaywalker999 We are sorry for the misunderstanding, but migration always was a PRO option. Migration is not just restoration, and there is no difference between localhost or live site. All tables need to be refactored to be compatible to the new environment.
Starting from a simple db prefix to more complex paths and urls, all are considered migration since these have to be refactored in a correct way to be able to work in the new environment.
With the free version you can backup and restore as much as you want, as long as the destination environment is the same, and by environment I mean site url, db prefix, etc.

In reply to: [JetBackup - Backup, Restore & Migrate] Can’t Import@fernandolawl The issue you’re experiencing usually happens when BackupGuard plugin conflicts with another plugins or theme. Usually these are non well developed plugins (they include their css and js files in our pages which is not recommended in WordPress plugin development). To determine which plugin is causing malfunction please disable all the plugins and re-enable them one by one thus detecting the problematic plugin. As the issue is a conflict with another plugin and has nothing to do with BackupGuard, we highly recommend reporting the issue to that plugin developers.

Please free up some space before performing a new backup.
